These players have started together in 16 tests....we have won 7, drawn 1 and lost 8. Together they have scored 8 tries, 2 against the USA in the WC....I'm betting they have no try assists, because they create nothing. At best they are adequate finishers. Partnership implies synergy......things one player does to launch or cover the other. But I can't think of one instance where Allende the inside player has launched Kriel. Nor can I think of any instance where they have worked a partnership in defence. Nope they are just two individuals playing poorly....there is no partnership, no record of success........hell after 4 years no evidence of improvement. We cannot go into the WC with this proven loser of a partnership.

Mozart

Back to total BS about a game in 2015 won by the Springboks 64 - and as to b expected from Mozart a lie to boot as well.  Here are the stats for that match from ESPN for the two players.:-

C Kriel 1/0 5 0/1/8 41 3 5 0 3 6/1 0/0 0 0/0C de Allende 1/1 5 0/5/8 50 3 8 1 1 2/0 0/0 0 0/0

The lie -  "I'm betting they have no try assists, because they create nothing. At best they are adequate finishers"

Why do you always try to mislead members with your crazy BS?

Is that the best you can do? A match we won by 64 to 0 against a USA team out of it's depth. And that's the partnership's one great try assist? C'mon there have to be a few more against legitimate opposition. Do your homework. And while you are about it include this from the USA match: J KrielC 3 6 1 0. D AllendeC 1 2 0 0. L MvovoW 0 5 0 0. Kriel, and Allende managed to lose the ball 4 times in this game against the USA, almost unbelievable negligence. But then we remember this is Allende and Kriel. Game, set and match.

No - its the match you are referring to and the lie was quoted - did not go into the rest of the stats/

You base an analysis of a match on a lie and then expect no comment on it.  Lets look at the back up situation as to the game you refer to.   Due to Meyer's disastrous selection approach by the start of the WC Kriel and  De Allende were center partners in ONLY THREE TESTS - 2 in the RC and a warm-up game.

Mey er put all his marbles on De Villiers - an injury-crocked player and Fourie.  The latter had a game before the WC where he produced zero  of value in the Japanese disaster and in fact was a real contributor to that loss.  He then started  against Samoa in the next game - got inured again after another zero-value performance and never played again.  Fourie was so fat and unfit that he was sent packing after arriving at the June 2015 training camp.  Even the dim Meyer realized that it would be impossible to get Fourie back to even basic fitness level before the WC and he as sent packing,

Synergy between players came to the center pairing,  playing together over a period and cannot be developed in a series like the WC where the new centers played their sixth starting game as a starting center pair in the game you distorted above.

In 2016 and  2017 the two played together in two tests and no synergy could be developed either.   Coetzee selection criteria was almost as bad  as those of Meyer and we got to June 2018 with a center pairing who had 8 games together as a center pairing spread over three years. That would built synergy?

The craze levels went up to get Esterhuizen and AM at center.  Here we have a center pairing that played for three seasons of Super Rugby together for the Sharks.  Both failed repeatedly in synergy and performance in all tests - yet you went on screaming support only varied by new support for Steyn - who produced zero in the two tests he played in from the bench this year and you tried to write total nonsense as to his performances being of value.  Your rating of him was a joke as well.

Now this is a real and objective analysis and not the prejudiced BS you published in this thread.  Get real for a change please.

Allende and Kriel are still the best in their positions on the evidence available.

Players like Janse van Rensburg, Kwagga, Willemse, should have been tried.

But of the guys actually playing center here in South Africa, nobody has proven to be better.

Beeno

Mozart was caught lying about the relevant match and I then looked at that.  match stats and did not bother about the defense part.   We all know that in the relevant match the USA team had very little ball possession and the tackle count was low.

So suddenly Mozart trying to get away from the lie he peddled went on the attack because Kriel lost possession three times and De Allende once.  I cannot remember the ciorcumstances leading to those for cases,

This reminds me of another of Mozart's famous postings on De Allende.   In the Aussie test in 2015 e Allende missed a tackle on a try-scorer and he and AO blamed De Allende for the try.  The first defender was Jannie du Plessis who got run over.   De Allende after completing another tackle ran for the side to try and tackle the all carrier and he missed he tackle,   The story did not end there.   There was not a word said about the rest of the tackles.   De Allende made 15 tackles that day and missed 6 tackles.   When I mentioned those stats on site, everybody tried to get away from the 15 completed tackles and Pakie came to Mozart's assistance and said De Allende made 12 tackles and missed 8.   Obviously another lie.

There are other circumstances where Mozart peddled untrue stories and in the end I reached a decision not to believe a word of the BS Mozart, AO and Pakie peddle on site - they are all members who hate certain players and  lie their way through false descriptions of what happened in matches.    De Allende, Kriel and De Jager are just three of the players on that list - there are many others as well.

I am sorry but that i8s exactly the reason why I started calling them Idiot Speakers,

completed tackles and Pakie came to Mozart's assistance and said De Allende made 12 tackles and missed 8

A while ago when you again dragged up this nonsense I linked to the original thread and you ended up apologizing to me. And here you are dragging it up again while yet again calling me a liar. Your word means nothing. Your apologies mean nothing.

The first defender was Jannie du Plessis who got run over.   De Allende after completing another tackle ran for the side to try and tackle the all carrier and he missed he tackle,

As usual, a complete fairy tale.

Here is DA in the defensive line lining up Kuridrani who is waiting to receive. He is not "running for the side" after making another tackle, he is standing in the defensive line waiting. Jannie du Plessis is in no way, shape or form involved - probably because he was subbed at minute 47 of the game.

Here is DA lying without his man while Kuridrani is scoring a try in the background after slipping out of DA's tackle because DA never bothered bringing up his left arm to wrap him.

I don't care either way whether this is called a miss or not. What I care about is how you blatantly lie about what happens on the field of play. Jannie du Plessis (who wasn't even on the field anymore)? DA running after completing another tackle? Utter toss.

Why not just say "it was close to the tryline, DA did his best but from that distance it was very difficult to stop". That is at least an accurate description of the circumstances of the event and I can live with that even if I disagree about whatever conclusions can be drawn from it.

You can see how De Allende came from the side to make the tackle clearly as I said,  There was another player directly between the tryline and  Kuridrani - so that was the story n that issue,  Fact is that De Allende tackle from the side is not really effective ever and is a real problem in his case.  It even happened this year when he missed a tackle coming from the side.

However since 2015 DeAllende's defense improv ed drastically and he rarely miss tackles anymore.    .

So his tackling was poor in 2015......finally, a bit of accidental honesty. I agree there aren't many obvious answers.....but this partnership is a proven loser. Eraser should have tried Damian Willemse at 12. I have far more faith in him than Allende to make an open field tackle......and he is a more elusive runner and can offload. Allende dies with the ball every time. And Kriel is essentially the same player, charging into the first tackler. And as we saw on Saturday, still a fragile defender. Willemse and Mapoe would have been an interesting experiment.

No I said his tackling in one match was unacceptable - but I never lied about it or tried to create another lot of BS and I did not cook the numbers - I use the ESPN numbers.

However, that was not what the heading relates to - and that is a nice diversion effort after pointing out facts to you to correct the nonsense  contained in your original posting.

Mozart - why do you bugger around more after you were corrected and also the Eraser story is total BS.  Erasmus is a better coach than Meyer ever was and you did not invent a nickname for him.

Now let me ask you a simple question.  Why should Frans Steyn be picked -

*   after he was a serial flop in three seasons of Super Rugby in 2013, 2014, and 2015 at center;

*    after his contract with SARU was not renewed because he obviously was not test standard anymore in 2015,

*    after Montpellier st opped using him as flyhalf and center and replaced him with other players -  Goosen. Serfontein and next year Pollard and when he did play he played at full back for the Club; and

*    after his Club Contract was for obvious reasons not renewed.

You went bananas about his performance in the two tests he came from the bench and rated him as a 7 for doing next to nothing.  De Allende is a better tackler than Steyn and is a better and more effective crashballer as well - so why should Steyn be playing for the Springboks?   Reputation of 10 years ago is not enough to get a player to be selected - that was Meyer's style.  Perhaps I should not ask you this question - since you also support reputation selection of players.   Sorry - but Steyn was hugely promising initially - went to play for Racing Metro (who would not renew his contract) and he came back a serial flop in 2012 - probably because he was  totally unfit and overweight at the time.  He was in a shocking physical condition when he returned from France and he still is overweight - whether you like it or not.  .

As to Esterhuizen and Am - AO wrote streams of BS about how good they are - but they have been  in the main failures when they played in tests - and you took up the crazy praise-songs and carried on regardless because of your hatred of De Allende and Kriel.

Best advice - stop it - you are making a fool of yourself.       .

What a load of shit. Firstly the true test of a partnership is how well they do against the best. Last year these two comprehensively outplayed the AB pair. In test rugby centres struggle to make the impression centres did back in the day when defences were less structured and less of a science. Name a single settled centre pair in test rugby today - the answer is a big fat zero. Moz your problem is that you are too stupid to see the proper picture. If other test centre pairs were ripping others apart and finding investment in their selections then maybe you would have half a point. There is no better centre pair in test rugby right now when they do actually play together. There are some that may be on par but none better and many that are worse. It’s called perspective - wake up - you don’t see centres dominating games - centres find most of their time operating in traffic

Well we immediately run into a problem with the claim that they comprehensively outplayed the AB pair, because.....duh.....the pair who played for us in our win in NZ was Allende and Am. Kriel wasn't even on the bench, and in that match Allende made 1 run for 2 metres and missed 20% of his tackles......some dominance! Granted they had much better stats in South Africa.....on attack.....but that was in the context of the Boks having 60% of the territory and possession. They got tons of great ball. But Allende at 7 tackles made and 3 missed had the worst tackling stats of the group. So dominance.....another one of your fantasies Dave. As for how they do against 'the best' you have never rated Crotty, now suddenly he is the best for comparison purposes. Why not use the Scots....Jones and Horne outgained Allende/Kriel 98 to 25. Now that's dominance!

There was no win in Wellington last year - now was there?  O yes - there was, but the players to blame was De Allende and Du Toit  they nearly caused a loss by poor performance so you better ignore what happened - it was so painful.,   Louw was outstanding in that game - he did not knock on a ball five meters out and handed possession straight back to the AB's - but better ignore that as well and praise him to high heaven!!!!

Stupid - why carry on with the s tory after being caught out lying - while desperately trying to divert attention away from the BS you initially peddled?

No I never said that was good enough - not once,  I wrote in April last year that De Allende for very good reasons should not be in the squad.    However, I never made an effort to invent poor play on any players part - that I leave entirely to you and the two idiots.   I would always defend any player being criticized on the basis the three of you do/

My observation of players are based on sound concepts and not pet hatred and imagined deficiencies.   I do not invent incidents and say IF - I say this happened.

Unfortunately  both Esterhuizen and Steyn are worse performers than De Allende and to try and find skyscrapers to negate that is total BS.  You rating of Steyn in the AB test was a typical farce.

Damian is passive, weak in the upper body, has no spatial awareness, cannot sum up situations, panics, never responds to an opposition ploy, is a weak defender and doesn't possess a great pass.

Kriel is much stronger than Damian, quick, offers intensity, hits the line like a truck. Can pass if he wants to, seldom sees the opportunity. He is a head-on runner who craves space. Can be great on defence, other times can be porous. A mixed bag.

You give either player great front-foot ball and they can't hurt the enemy. It's very much like the Battle of the Somme. All that artillery fire and the enemy emerges unscathed and mows us down. Donkeys led by nose picking baboons.

We know Kriel and Allende are a losing partnership, 8 losses in 15 games.....probably given how many tests they have played, the worst in Bok history. Here's a challenge to those who dispute this.....name one test the mopes have won for us, one act that really turned a test in our favour. In sixteen games there should be one.

Damian has never been a contributor to a win. Not from a defensive or attacking standpoint. Kriel has had his moments, like the try against New Zealand last year, but that was in a loss. With Kriel, we see the occasional big run for a try. Seldom when we need it most, like Fourie, who gave the Boks numerous comebacks, or at least the threat of one. His try in the second Lions test, the game winning try against Scotland in 2008, his double against NZ in 2006, or his moment of magic with du Preez to crack the Welsh open in 2013 to his courageous try against England in 2008. I suppose these are differences between a player who can hit the line and a player who can cut the line. We don't possess one player who can cut the line with clever running like Jaque. Kriel is a mindless basher.

I never mentioned which test I’m speaking about the one where de Allende and Kriel completely outplayed the AB pair and that’s a fact. My point exactly re centres - you mention Huw Jones, the same centre the Scots dropped last season. Just shows how difficult it is for centres to keep impressing. Look at the AB’s they can’t decide who to settle with they to keep trying out 5 different players - why, because it’s so damn hard to make an impression. You naively judge centre based on the Danie Gerber or BOD era. The game has moved on. Test centres these days change as regularly as you change your underpants. As for Crotty he is solid at best nothing special - a Brad Barrett kind of player

Brad Barrett is the most useless one-dimensional player that has ever played for the Sharks, utterly pointless.  He is like watching paint dry, just no purpose.
Crotty is a playmaker, he adds value. Not the most skilled player himself, but he can at least create space for others.
Brad Barrett was a battering ram, with the only variation being closing down space for his teammates .

I agree that the breakdown of the traditional backline structure has changed the way we use these players, to an extent. The 12 is still the hard-nosed space creator and the 13 is still the connector with the outside backs. That hasn't change. The two aren't always interacting with each other, as they may be separated by personnel groupings etc, but they still perform much the same functions. NZ are chopping and changing because Fred Flintstone can't determine what is patently clear: Laumape is their best 12. Australia have been struggling at 12 since Horn retired. The list goes on.

In the end. Damian is a wing and Kriel is a fullback. Both out of position, both unsuccessful.

The world over keeps changing its centres as centres struggle to make the impression they used to as no space is available to express themselves in but you fools out there still judge them according to the days Gerber and co played

Damian has bettered nobody. Kriel has bettered nobody. These are no world class talents. Gelant has no boot on him either; plays at 15. Kirchner had no boot on him either; played 15. Runners from the back, like Cullen.

Actually, there is more space than ever. Pre- ELVs the defence was on top of runners quickly. In many of Rassie's structures Kriel is in a 3 an unit out wide with Kolisi and Willie, sometimes separated by one back to connect the two units. Not only more space, more guaranteed structured front-foot ball. What does he do with all of this space? Not much.

As for Damian? The Twickenham test was a marvellous demonstration of impotent running with front-foot ball. So to the Brisbane test of the same year, or the Samoan test of 2015. Nothing has changed. In fact, the NZ loss last year, we saw Damian actually crab and eat up space. He likes to be in space, but when he has it he doesn't know what to do. Like his wobbly run at Twickenham last year. He had support all around him, but couldn't see the space around him, or sum up the situation.

These players are not world class and have given the Bok no advantage over anyone. Kriel was duped by the Japanese, Damian duped by everyone including himself.

I thought the Serfontein-JJ partnership was bad, but this takes the cake, the entire bakery and half the street with it.

I think the Esterhuizen - Am center pairing or the Sharks - not even on test level - was worse than anything De Allende and Kriel produced.  They are not top but average test level players and I never said that they are irreplaceable if a better combination comes to the fore - but at this  stage there are no better combination available,

Any dreaming that Steyn, Esterhuizen and Am is better is based on dramatized BS dreamt up by Mozart and co and not facts at all.   You have no idea about De Allende and the weak upper body bs is stupendously funny.   The fact is that anybody who wants Steyn at center after his Club moved him out of that position to full back for obvious reasons and did not renew their contract with him - is unbelievably rugby illiterate.

Incidentally the AB commentators/panelists  on the Breakdown Program are worried about the threat the Springbok backline poses for opposing teams and that includes De Allende  and Kriel.   So why should we listen to the repetitive garbage you and Mozart thrive on in this case? .

Samoa and Scotland tests in the WC.   But then we have the "expert" who claims that Fat Fransie - who since his return from France 2012 made a positive contribution to any team  he played for, while in fact his contribution was so poor that his Club before getting rid of him did not sue him at center or flyhalf - also for obvious reasons.

No Mozart the fact that you used to punt Morne Steyn - routinely the  bench flyhalf for Stade Francais - as the ideal Springbok flyhalf is on par with your present Fat Fransie campaign.   Total rugby iliteracy

Well even if true, that was 4 years ago! But of course, as usual it's complete horse! Against Samoa.....JP scored 3 tries, Habana and Burger one each. All the old guard who weren't supposed to be there according to you. We could have played any Super centre and won that match. So Scotland. Tries by JP, Habana and....you guessed it, Schalk Burger. Waaaaaaahahaha. As for our centres they made 1 pass and zero offloads between them.....so what did they create? Nothing and Allende missed 3 of his 12 tackle attempts. So I repeat name any test the partnership of Allende and Kriel helped win.

No Mozart

You lied about the Samoa test and got caught out.

Now lets get back to your 4 year story -  in two years under Coetzee De Allende and Kriel was the center pairing in two games - for the rest there was duds like your hero  De Jongh and others as centers.

In three of the lost games of Erasmus last year - Esterhuizen - your latest hero  was the inside center and in all games De Allende and Kriel was the center pairing the backline performance was markedly better,

I am always amazed at you - you come up with points that is in direct contrast with  reality and against what real experts say like was the case was with the AB panelists in the Breakdown  Program this week.   Whenever you said something totally contrary to reality - the players you dislike are hyped by the media - but what reason would NZ commentators have to hype up players.

And you don't mind distorting what actually happens during games - that has been proven many times - and then go on the rampage.   Actually it is funny in a weird way - but also tragic that you do so.

Give me Allende and Kriel before Estehuizen and Am any day.

How the Huffer can say Allende has no upper body strength is hilarious. I have seen him dump tight forwards. Very strong.

Where does ou Huffer get these absurd ideas from.!

I say he has poor upper body strength because he hunches down and drives with his legs. That's the anatomy of a Damian run. On defence? He has no front-on force whatsoever. Very, very weak in the tackle. I have watched Damian's games very closely and I have never seen him dump a tight forward. I've only seen Andre and Frans do that. Not even Jean, and he was no pushover. I've seen Damian get run right over, just like Serfontein.

Am is smarter than Kriel, and with better skills.
