Mannetjies Roux...a freak of a player who contained more nitro glycerine than a ton of dynamite.

Ray Mordt...probably the strongest human being to play rugby on the outside

Keith Oxlee...probably the most intelligent rugby player ever

Hennie Muller...shear energy...the perfect no 8

Gareth Edwards...we will never see the likes of them again

Tommy Bedford...despite his size made up to parallel Windhond and Zin Zan

John Eales...with Frik Du Preez and Colin Meads...better than brilliant

Serge Blanco...best fullback ever...could play wing too...only one equal, Christian Cullen

Mighty Mouse McLaughlin...best fronter ever

Keith Wood...the complete hooker,perfect in every dept.

Joost was far better than Edwards
Eales was good but not great...many modern locks are better...starting with Bakkies and Matfield in their prime 
Wood was good but not nearly the best. Bismark, Uli and Fitz for a start were better.
My father in law had Oxlee and Hugh Tayfield as his bowls partners 

 Serge Blanco couldn't fit in a telephone booth these days. It's hard to imagine that quivering pile of jelly was once the best fullback in the world.
