The favourites of Meyer supported by Mozart

Mozart's constant story is that SA Rugby is doomed by the absence of some of th e reputation players Meyer selected and has retired from rugby or is playing for forreign teams.
So let us look at some of them.  Last week there was a huge story about how good Matfield was in the game he played in - but was he really all that good?   He did his normal and fluff a line-out where the objective was to form a driving maul about 5 meters out.  Another maul which he was supposedly co-ordinating was stopped by 3 opposition players - showing how weak the co-ordinator was.   He carried the ball 4 times making a grand total of 3 meters - made 6 tackles and missed 2.  That wonderful display was highlighted by Mozart as a massive display by Matfield - while it was anything but.
Then we have the great favourites both playing for Stade Francais.  Morne was pathetic in the game between Stade francais and Racing Metro yesterday and so was Alberts.  He stood around at mauls and waited for the ball to be passed to him so that he can be seen as carrying balls,   It happened 5 times and in most of those made no impression - his tackle count was low as per normal and in between he just disappeared in the game.   A serial flop who is a delusion as a loosie.  Then there was Morne Steyn - the less said the better.    The only SA player who impressed in the game was in fact Goosen.   He replaced Carter in minute 53 when Stade Francais was  leading 16-13 and Goosen himself scored a try and converted the other two tries scored - while having a serious positive impact on one fo the other two tries scored during the match,  He carried the ball 6 times for a meter gain of  61 meters.
This issue will go forth after rthe Mopntpellier game this afternoon involving Montpellier.  This game will be broadcasted on DSTV and I am going to see what the Du Plressis brothers and another Mozart favourite - Fat Fransie - produce in that game.                

 The following players played today for Montpellier today and i would classify them from a performance perspective:-
Paul Willemse - very goodJacques du Plessis - good (got a yellow card - otherwise very good)Catrakillis  -  Above averageSteyn       -  Average (involved in two good attacks - but also buggered up badly in others)Jannie du Plessis - was on the bench - Below ParBismarck du Plessis - was on the bench - Below Par.

 So Stade Francais played La Rochelle = not of any real strength and the following obserrvations howed a series of BS.  Morne kick foiur penalties.  He never had a ball carry abnd never made a tackle - standard Morne performance.  
Willemse and Alberts scored tries but for the rest a blank.  No ball carries - no tackles made.  I can understand that from Willemse - but a loosie not making a single tackle is absolute BS.
I did not watch the game - but what I see from the stats is not anything top write home about.  
I suppose you are carrying on abouut Fransie - who miraculously scored a try - no ball carries - no tackles made - what a massive center according to you in your grovelling before Mozart.

Mike - need to double check your stats. All four players with no carries and no tackles? Three score tries without making a carry?

 I'm still waiting for one of these non HM favorites to show they can  do the business in a big game. Best HMs critics can  come up with is CJ Stampkar who gets rave reviews in the Irish press for the number of one meter runs he makes in a game.

Moz I thought by now you would have woken up to the reality that a metre gained per carry by a forward operating in traffic is par......but lets stick with your ignorance.....for therefore we have to then conclude that Eben is just as average as CJ is when it comes to operating in traffic.......not to mention we are comparing Eben at Super level vs CJ at test level......that Schalk is that much worse than CJ and Eben

By the way.......the pundits in choosing their Lions side based on the 6 Nations have CJ Stander as their blindside.....I wonder why that is?

 Stampkar is as slow as a cart horse, and he is a one trick cart horse er pony....two steps forward, get tackled, fall over. He beats a tackle about once in 10 runs. The Irish love him, but he is dog ordinary.
And did you see him trying to cover against Hogg. He is certainly no faster than a tight forward.

 How did this thread getting from Meyer's squad members playing rugby in France and England to CJ Stander - never playing in Meyer's squad?   
Just a thought - if Meyer's squad is borne in mind, then Alberts was the loosie involved - Sta nder is greased lightning compared to that one.
