Beeno
It isnt just speed or grunt.
Much like 15's... each coach has a blueprint which requires a certain type of player.
And at the moment, i reckon Horne fits the current blueprint perfectly.
LOL im not having a dig here, but isn't it typical of us. We play the best 7's rugby of our lives, but there are still those who want more.
Oh to be a content Saffa.... hell it takes a lot.

I agree with you - it is ard to satisfy th arm chair critics on rugby in SA.
Just a few observations - Kok and Kwagga Smith were fairly recent additions to the sevens squad and I think they bring something special to the squad. I would also bring in a player like Kriel into the set-up - but would rather not replace an institution like Horne in the set-up. He is an institution but is getting a bit on in age and probably will be out in the next year or two.
The commentators spoke of Habana yesteday - but is he really the one required to strengthen the squad? I have my doubts about whether that would be an inprovement.
I am also not overly impressed by Cheslin Kolbe - he did not bring something new to the squad. This one needs space to operate in and at "scrummie" that is just not the case.

Listen oaks please try and think before applying mindless fingers to keyboard!!!!
No side is perfect much as you might want to pretend it is. Horne is pretty slow. Kriel is ten times the athlete Horne is. Wake uup and smell the roses oaks. This side can still be improved. I want no mistakes re taking gold at the olympics. We lack a bit of grunt. Kriel would provide extra grunt and pace!!!
Be assured other sides will be upping the anti.
Beeno looking ahead. ou maaaikie and chipped ou looking to the past.
Ou maaaikie Cheslin needs to start on occassions. Powell needs better rotation of his players. If Cheslin had a mind to he could be more active as well. Look at Bronco how he gets active. Cheslin is a little too passive at times. It has absoluteley nothing to do with his playing scrummie. At a mere 80 kg his future in the 15 man game looks to be at scrummie but be assured the boneheads are unlikely to see this unless they came here and get the good message! Hahhahahahahaha

Kolbe did create a vital try with a quick step and offload. Did not have alot of opportunities.

I can see a few imrpovements to the AB 7's squad one of which is Ardie Savea.
There needs to be a balance between physical strentgh, speed and reading of the game ability. Size is not necessaruily an issue with the Kiwis - it is with speed of their physically big players that they have a serious problem.
And some of their players should be retired as well. They are ebcoming a bit too long in the teeth.

Belie ve me the kiwis will try and get a few more from the 15 man code to shore things up.
