Not a bad standard for the first week of games. Two upsets with regards to the results. The Lions failed to convert pressure into points. They were the better side.
At fullback Willie, Coetzee, Kolbe and SP were good. Visser was poor.
Wings - Combrink was good. Hougaard was wasted on the wing.
At centre de Allende stood tall. Mnisi was good as was Frans Venter.
At 10 Pollard and Lambie were good. Jantjies was far better than Boshoff.
At 9 Reinach and Groom were good. Faf came on too late for the Lions.
At prop, Koch proved a great find. Coenie was great in the scrums and general play. Kitshoff and Nyakane were good.
Marx looked good at hooker. Strauss and Scara were good.
The Stormers lock pair of Kleyn and Botha were very good as we're Jacques du Plessis, Mostert and PSDT.
Amongst the loosies the Stormers trio was good as was Kriel, Labascagne, Cook, Oupa, Coetzee and Mtembu.
On the negative side it looks like Lood broke his elbow and poor Arno Botha did his chest. At least it was not the knee that kept him out for the season.
