Willemse and Fassi are both very good at fullback, but this would be a lethal combination as a back-three.

11 Kurt-Lee Arendse

14 Edwill van der Merwe

15 Cheslin Kolbe

Willemse has bulked up and might be better replacing Delande. Fassi can sometimes go missing.

You only understand parts of the game, and this creates a blind spot, deceiving you into thinking that you understand rugby.

All you see is carriers, nothing else. A team is a sum of its parts, which goes beyond your simplistic and dogmatic view.

For example, loose forward play. You would persist with the creatine twins, and if they were triplets you would play them all in one backrow - but they are not all-around loose forward players. At best, decent ball carriers, but helpless on the ground.

No point having a backrow of ball carriers without the ball.

I was not impressed with Fassi on defence over this weekend. When their was clean breaks through the middle, he was no where. I did not see him much on cover defence when the skip passes resulted in tries out wide on the wing.

Kolbe has played allot of his rugby at fullback, and would surely have been a better option on defence. Not just tackling, but positional play.

Dr Lucky again:

Erasmus highlighted individual performances, noting, "I think Aphelele Fassi and Damian Willemse are struggling a little bit with confidence, just making the right decisions. But that’s not to say they’re bad rugby players, they must just find their feet."

It seems like the good Dr and you are just on different pages. Anybody who has watched rugby should have spotted the issues both our fullbacks had. Catch a wake up Dave….just be honest, tell it like it is, not like you want it to be.

I was talking about Fassi pre Xmas and for the Sharks this year

I’ve said nothing about Willemse who does look rusty

I was also disappointed in the lack of speed Edwil showed in not making an impact on chasing the Aussie try scorer down

If you watched any actual rugby, you would know that Fassi pre and post Xmas was two very different players.

Pre Xmas and his injury, he was electric, and full of confidence, making great plays and kicking brilliantly. Post xmas(and his injury) he never achieved that form again in 2025.

Watch rugby and stop guessing.

Why not ask people that have actually been watching the games. Better still...go to the actual match threads and read for yourself.

Fassi was way out of sorts in the URC this year. We commented so much on the match threads.

Yes, Dave

We all commented on the numerous Sharks match threads how Fassi was struggling, because we knew this would come up and we could use it to gang up on you.

That's how devious we are.

...or perhaps we're simply telling the truth and it's inconvenient for you.

Which do you think is more likely?

Scintillating stuff, Dave. Whoever coined the phrase "the gift of the gab" must not have realized how perfect a manifestation of it will come along in the form of yourself.
