The motivation behind Coetze nomination

Coetze is named head coach because of his colour.
As a coloured man, the expectation is that it allows to ease the pressure on the transformation target.

Any critical appreciation of the advancement on the project is to be met by the race card: Coetze is a coloured man himself, so he cant be accused of discriminating against his own. Cheap trick.

Coetze is, in all likelihood, the only guy who is going to be introduced in this squad because of his skin colour.

He wont probably even makes game plans etc His main task will be to act as a face to defuse any protestation.

 The team will be a mess as well as the non-existent game plan of Coetzee.  The Springbok team has lost my support and that is one of the saddest things in sport that I have to say.  I think they should abolish the designation Springbok and change it to Proteas - since the good players of the past will be seriously embarrassed about the future disasters to follow.
The ANC is destroying the country and their handmaidens in SARU is following suit.  What a disaster for SA Sport!!!    

 Mike I am trying to think who I can support. I would support the Argies  but they lose so often. Next best is Oz but that takes a lot of swallowing.

Funny thing to me as that he is lauded for finishing first in the SA conference last year...when he just narrowly beat a team of nobodies in the Lions with a Stormers team packed with money and Springboks. Fking joke. They clearly didn't pick him based on Silverware since all he has to show for his troubles as head coach are CC cups. Any idea who his assistants are? Also wonder why it took them so long to appoint him. Welcome to a new era of De Jong(spelling) as captain. Sucks!

 Also, watching the Stormers this year and the type of rugby they are playing, one can't help but think Coetzee was a liability to that side. Granted, it's still early doors. I keep getting head hunted by Canadian energy companies. This continues much longer and I might take them up on one of those offers. Fk it, I do fancy maple syrup.

On the Coetzee front, on Saturday 4 Stormers were from the WC semi team...Allende, Malherbe, Etzebeth, Burger. The Sharks on Saturday had 3....Willie, JP, Beast. The Bools had 4... Kriel, Stepfontein, Strauss, Nyakane.

The truth is the talent pool is very similar for the top 3 SA teams. But The Stormers lead the Bools by 4 and the Sharks by 7 in the table.  Not exactly a failure...pretty decent in fact. Admittedly the Lions are punching well above their weight, but the Stormers are performing better than the rest.

There has always been a perception the Stormers have the best talent pool and should be doing better. In the last few years that is far more true of the Sharks.

Looked at another way the WC semi team of 23 had only 5 of the 2015 Stormers. But the Stormers won the SA conference and dominated the similarly staffed Bools and Sharks.

Coetzee has been competent.

Your calculation is with respect flawed.   The Lions was running neck in neck with the Stormers last year in the Super 15 tournament  and won the CC as well - yet they had NO players in Meyer's WC squad.   The Stormers got a lucky break by drawing with them in the final stages of the Super 15 tournament.  If they lost - like they should have - they would not have been humiliated by the Brumbies in the play-off like the Stormers were.
All that under the stewardship of Coetzee whom you call a decent coach.  He has no idea about backline play and that has been proved throughout his career as coach.  And his back-up coach is a poor selection as well.  If he picked his back-up coaching staff - as he claimed - then we are in for a very poor years until and after a frther disastrous WC.

One's family depends on your commitment to these ... to them. 

Taking one for the team, so to speak, is to everyone's advantage and doesn't only effect your life but others too. Dogs included.
However, cheering for someone elses team, especially race based, doesn't sit high on my important things to do list ... especially when one knows of countless other more deserving players sitting at home with their dicks in the hand.

Will you be supporting these racist policies in rugby with your hard earned cash? Will you go watch test matches live across the country ... help fill stadiums with your presence ... and in so doing , boldly declare to us all that ... "yes, I support quotas in rugby ... in sport" ... ??

Well Klown, I'm the opposite. I complain a lot more about quotas in the workplace than quotas in rugby. I might have had the occasional bleat about quotas in rugby but I feel much more strongly about quotas that affect the livelihood of myself and my kids.

As you say, rugby isn't such a big deal compared to our jobs and our livelihoods. We agree on that. The difference between you and I is that while we both recognise quotas in the workplace are more harmful, you choose to turn a blind eye to those quotas and spend your energy whining about quotas in rugby instead. I'm the opposite. I don't make a big fuss about rugby quotas but I do my best to expose incompetence and corruption of BEE appointments in the workplace.
