....emerged again today. A deer in the headlights when there is movement, Quinton was lucky to survive his first 6 balls. The two foot gap between bat and pad will never lead to consistent results against real swing and sharp spin.

Some seriously poor lbw calls by the one umpire. Fine ball by Abbott to get the first wicket.....he may not be great, but he is a lot better than de Lange.

Proteas being murdered at the death....this is a very  demoralizing loss. Any halfway decent attack should have been able to defend 250 on this wicket.

The real Amla has been a constant in ODI's this year - failing in virtually every game.  .  I would be prepared to prefer the other De Kock to the real Amla.   You are a dunce and that remains a fact.

You can say whatever you wish on this site - especially since you have been proven to be a habitual liar in the past.  So produce the truth you have about me or shut up - yo u bloody idiot.

I don't have to do anything old chap. I'm happy to quit this silly name calling. But as long as you lie about me being stupid, I'm going to tell the truth about you being a frustrated, lonely old queen.

May I remind you of a truce we had last year - broken by you repeatedly despite my pleas to stop - and then I have to sit and accept everything vicious you churned out?

That of course is nonsense. A pox on your truce Tokkie, it was naive of me to think you would abide by the rules. Your veiled innuendoes fooled nobody, you stirred and got snot klapped.

Moz, the beauty of cricket is that the stats paint a quite acurate picture over time. QDK is slowly but surely building some significant stats. Pin pointing odd errors is stupid.

Draad of course technique is relevant. On flat wickets with no swing or spin, de Kock's superb eye overcomes those issues. So against this very ordinary Pom one day attack, he is effective....at home and on flat pitches. In that scenario he is a match winner and fun to watch. What we saw in the last ODI was the de Kock that is frozen by movement. Both players exist. One would hope over time he corrects the technical issues.....but until he makes a big knock in difficult conditions we can't be sure.

Youngest ever player to 10 ODI centuries, beating virat kohli

And the quickest to 10 ODI centuries, joint with Amla at 55 innings

An exceptional conversion rate when he reaches 50 to get to his 100, which is the sign of a mature player

All this while maintaining a strike rate of 92.59

Ja Deddy, we are fooled by the stats. Kholi did not compete on that much flat wickets... PS, GS also had problems with weak technique, but he refused to let that stand in the way of a brilliant career.  Go KOKKIE! !!!!

I fail to understand how we cannot accept this young man's accomplishments
Compared to "most" it is still great
Do whatever sums you want to......he is still a performer for this side
I lost interest in this "pathetic" SA side, and I will still call it that with all the political games they play
But.... you still cannot dispute his performance.......flat or not

Mozart remains a bloody fool - De Kock made 302 runs in 3 ODI's - but it is according to him not good enough,   He hates the guy ever since he replaced Smith in the ODI squad.
He was attacking De Kock over the past year and saying he cannot bat - and a string of other rubbish attacks about flat pitches and poor bowling attacks.   he claims De Kock cannot take pressure as well.
He really is childish because of his prejudice against the guy.

Point out where I say it's not good enough....I'm simply saying he scores runs when there is no movement. It's simple to disprove this, tell me of one time he has made a big score when all around him have failed. The floor is yours.

Just go back two weeks to Bloemfontein - all the SA Batters other than De Kock and Du Plessis failed.  That includes Amla and De Villiers as well,   You know you are talking BS about De Kock and that means that you are still sore about the fact that he forced Smith out of the ODI team after Smith failed in a string of games.

A pitch where England made 399 runs is your example of de Kock making runs in tough conditions. Are you simple or just taking the piss?

I answered your stupid question and gave you an example.  How the hell do you know what the pitch was like - purely based on runs made?  What was the SA attack like stupid?
I am sure that I am not the one who takes the piss - you are, but you are too stupid to realize how foolish you are.

ODI against Pakistan in Abu Dhabi 8th november 2013, very tough conditions, amongst a fairly low 266 team total De Kock makes a gritty 112.

ODI against Pakistan in PE 27th november 2013, QDK makes a brisk 47 in a chase on a tough pitch where Kallis and Smith both failed the same day

In the India series where De Kock made 3 hundreds

1st: 135 on a pitch where india only managed 217, let's not act like it was completely easy conditions.

2nd: 106 ,only QDK and Amla make runs for SA, not an easy pitch to bat on, india all out for 146

3rd: 101, only QDK and AB make runs for SA

Series against New Zealand at Hamilton

De Kock makes 80 not out on a rain filled day where all other SA batsmen struggle

5th odi against Australia in Sydney, De Kock produces a vital 107

World Cup Quarter against Sri Lanka

In a game where Sri Lanka's batsmen struggled and all out for 133, Both Amla and Faf also struggle for timing, De Kock cruises to 78 of 57

These are just a few innings of great importance by QDK in less than ideal conditions, i could go into more games if you want Moz

His 10 centuries have come:

5 x India
1 x Pakistan
2 x England
1 x Sri Lanka
1 x Australia

Those are good cricketing nations, he's not getting these 100s against a bunch of mugs like Zimbabwe or Ireland

There's also been 3/4 occasions where hes been well set for a big score but rain has washed out the game

And before his dead rubber 107 against Oz he scored 2, 4, 47 and 17. Johnson wasn't bowling after the first two games and South Africa got 280 for 5, hardly tough conditions.
And face it in ODIs India's dominant spinners don't have the pitch advantages they do in tests.

Still the list is longer than I thought....time will tell.

It wasn't tough conditions against Oz but they still had Starc, Hazlewood and Cummings so 100 was pretty good going

I'm not saying he's the finished article, he's been inconsistent but despite all of the inconsistencies and drop offs in form he has still managed to get 10 hundreds in the quickest time ever, as well as being the youngest to do it.

He's about 3/4 years off a batsman's usual peak years, it's amazing to think how good he can be then

It remains to be seen if the successes will follow in tests but I see no reason to think it won'.

Some nice examples APD, thanks
I am also not saying he's going to be the best ever, let's hope he does
But, one cannot fault his current achievements at this age
Take away those 10 hundreds and make them failures...... that will show a different story to how successful we have been with him in the side
Excellent individual performances so far
