No Mozart. I have not changed my mind about him.
He is the best 10 in the country currently and if he were allowed to run the show as he's supposed to, we may have seen a different result.
Using the brain dead Pienaar as our play-maker was just another bit of typical Meyer ignorance.
Like you, Meyer doesn't like Pat.
We don't need the opposition to take our players out of the game. Meyer sees to that all on his own ... and what I find hilarious is that he still expected to win the match.
I suppose you're hoping Morne gets the nod today.
He probably will.

Lambie makes a fine flyhalf but Pollard is a great.

Pollard could become a great.
Right now he's an inexperienced greenhorn who cracks under pressure.
He still needs a season or three.

Lambie was barely given a chance in the game against Japan, he was rarely the first receiver.
23 Sept 2015, 09:15#7
Exactly!!!
A tad difficult to stake a claim for the jersey if your taken out deliberately by your coach.
Lambie has never been given a fair shake by Meyer. Never will be.

What a load of utter rubbish....he was no worse or better than the rest of the side on the day.

This is typical Low Life
He is free to criticize players based on all the wrong perceptions - when we criticize his favourites for very valid reasons we are depicted as "barking dogs" The arrogance of Low Life is unbelievable.
He does not look at games as a whole - and then makes deductions from players he does not like. He does not realize that a lot of defensive problems is caused by the tendency of for instance De Villiers to break the defensive line by rushing out of line.
He never saw what happened on Saturday with Pienaar's poor service and then blame Lambie for being too passive. In Af ri kaans there is a saying: "Hy is so toe soos 'n klei-os se gat". That is applicable to Low Life on this site.
He would love Morne in the side - but after the Perth test last year he tried to paper over the bugger-ups Morne made. He also went into a war of words about Morne's bugger-ups in the Argentina tests last year and in the June tests against Wales. Those were not considered at all by him. "Hy is so toe soos 'n klei-os se gat"
He carries on about De Allende's defense - but keeps quiet about the worse defensive problems of Fat Fransie. "Hy is so toe soos 'n klei-os se gat"
The same idiom applies to Desert Fox as well.

Lambie was given two EOYTs and has had nearly six years to make a mark. To date we are still awaiting that breakout game at both Super and test level. Sadly all he has is a CC game. Morné was hardly given a fair deal by Peter in 2009, he made his debut off the bench as a fullback in the first Lions test and made a try saving tackle over the line to save the test. A week later he came off the bench to save the second test. A short time later came off the bench to seal the New Zealand opener. Lambie never finds a way to do anything, at test level he has been outplayed by every opposition flyhalf. There is no excuse, he just isn't good enough. He doesn't have natural talent, he never did, not even at youth level. It's not as though he was Serfontein, who excelled in the junior ranks. I can understand why people backed him initially, but there was never anything in Lambie. He is average in every sense of the word. He is very safe under the high ball and that is why he should be played at 15. It's the most natural position for him.

But now that Lambie is the flyhalf, their eyes opened for the first time... Awww shame, poor Lambie!

"So you are saying Lambie had a good game."
don't put words in my mouth, it's very nasty and low.
Where did I say that lambie had a good game? in this thread I didn't even mention him, in other threads I said that he had an awful game, exactly as the rest of the team had (except may be De Jager).
And I'm not shifting anything,..... this thread is about you trying to blame the players that you don't like, as you've been constantly doing for the last days,...... in this case, and in many other threads trying to blame Lambie, in some other threads blaming Kriel and his missed tackle,........ this is a huge disaster, a catastrophe (and what it's still to come), a lot more bigger that what a player can do or what a single missed tackle can mean.

Low Life did not look at the rating out of 10 of the players on Saturday. Pienaar gor a 3.5 out of 10 rating - with real justification. Lambie got 6 out of 10 - one of the few players who got a pass mark - it 5/10 is really a pass mark.
This was a poor game - a very poor game by all the players bar De Jager. So Low Life had to find players to blame and he cottoned onto Lambie and Kriel - not the real culprits - those were exonerated.
Normal style with that BSter. No one has so little rugby knowledge and so big a mouth with arrogance in over-abundance than Low Life. Bettee accept he is not beyond lying when it comes to rugby matches.

Moz, really? There were few players that did not have bad games, very few had decent games. Neither Pienaar nor Kirshner are amongst the latter.

What did he do wrong? Easy to identify - he was robotic and slow. He passed the ball 79 times - less than half of that to the flyhalf and mostly so when the latter was required to kick- so what did he contribute to the backline? Bugger-all - he neutralized the whole backline all on his own.

Pienaar's service is slow and his timing is off most of the time. Stalls alot before picking the ball up to pass. He does not instinctively know what to do and takes the wrong option more often than not. Lambie was lacklustre too.

Denounce...no. Lambie is a perfectly good fullback. He is not a flyhalf. As usual his defenders have rallied round but this was as bad as his dithering performance against Wales.
Draad forgive me if I conclude the criticism of Pienaar is without specifics, mostly just preconceived bias. I don't think he is a great scrum half. But on Saturday he was quite functional.

Moz, I back my gut feeling and perception. It was the general feeling I got during the game. I was the first to defend him after the WXV and Ozz games, but in this game he and many others were off. I am on record for not feeling comfortable with Bambie @ 10 and I prefer Pollard and Morne there. If Morne had played more, I would have backed him 200% to start, but he didn't. I see Lambie as a utility back covering 10 & 15, with 15 being his prime spot. You took your eye off the ball recently and are playing the man, not the ball. I am not a Meyer, Matfield, Jean, etc bascher, but that does not stop me from calling them out when they screw up. You seem to be turning into a blind follower of anything opposite of Mike...and the other "dogs". Like I said before, no one can try and defend losing to Japan, it was the senior players and the coach to blame. The rooks had no leadership and direction...and it was ghe coach who picked them in the first place.

Morné played better with Pienaar playing even worse rugby in 2012 and 2014. Also with Vermaak, a has-been Januarie, Reinach and Hougaard. So what's the point? Lambie can have Du Preez and it makes no difference. He has never played one adequate test at 10. Not a single one. Not in six years. SIX YEARS. There's always an excuse for this kid.

You are pathetic - since 2012 Lambie played as a starter had the following record:-
2012 - 3 wins - no losses2013 - 1 win - no losses2014 - 2 wins - 1 loss2015 - 1 win - 1 loss
His win percentage record was as follows:-
Wins - 77,78%Lost - 22,22%
In the same period your pathetic hero - Morne Steyn - had a winning percentage of 66,67%.
Now I agree that - like the rest of the team bar De Jager - Lambie did not have a good game against the Japanese. However, your following statement about Lambie is an outrageous misrepresentation:-
"Lambie can have Du Preez and it makes no difference. He has never played one adequate test at 10. Not a single one. Not in six years. SIX YEARS."
Stick to facts and not misrepresentations as a means of advancing your arguments and some people may agree with you. In essence Lambie remains a much better flyhalf than we had in Morne Steyn, but personally I think that Pollard is a better bet.

Michael, the very best period for Lambie was the 2012 EOYT which the majority of fans were not happy with. We struggled on attack and Lambie was the bottleneck. Look at the stats and see how much ball he had and how poorly he distributed to the backs.
In 2013 he started against a very weak Scotland side which was pulverized by our pack and Willie did the rest of the damage along with Alberts' big ball carries.
Last year, Lambie started against Italy but Pollard had to come off the bench to save that test! Against England Lambie had a horror show and I can post that video for all to see.
You are plummeting to new depths Michael. Morné has the greater stats as per production, and has been a part of successful try scoring backlines that win. The loss to Japan was actually the most successful attacking performance with Lambie in his entire career at test level at 10!

DF
You skipped the whole issue here completely. I gave you the stats on Morne and you went all out to ignore them and even come up with the sh!t poor Alberts as having an impact on the test against Scotland in 2013.
As per normal Alberts put in a regular piss poor performance in that test and for your info I am posting Alberts stats for that test:-
Alberts1/050/0/111900003/00/020/0
Alberts scored a rolling maul try. Anyone at the back of the maul could have done it- Coetzee scores such tries regularly. His 11 mighty ball carries resulted in a territory gain of 19 meters - an average gain of 1,7 meters per carry = no ball carries of any consequence. He made only three tackles in that game - less than any other forward would have done on a normal day and he gave away 2 penalties by hanging onto balls when tackled.
Your long story about Lambie is largely based on prejudice and in some cases totally defective. Your horror show videos is legendary and is always described in such a way that it discredit the players you dislike. We won the test against England despite a determined effort by Matfield to lose the test for us.
The Italy test last year was won though a brilliant performance by Reinach - Pollard had to converse two tries late in the game. Lambie was not the problem in that test - the real problem was the 9 penalties given away by our forwards. They malfunctioned on that day - same as they did in the Wales test the next week and same as they did on Saturday.
You mentioned the worst flyhalfs we had as Koen and Rose. Both had more to offer than the clueless and robotic Morne - whose only asset ever was to kick at goal, For the rest he was clueless in decisionmaking and horrible in execution. The worst flyhalf in living memory playing for the Springboks. He was much worse than Koen and Rose - two very poor flyhalfs - because they had more ball sense than Morne and buggered up less than Morne did on a regular basis in tests .

Lambie though is a good flyhalf and has the rugbybrain to manage the position. Defends well for a smaller flyhalf and doesnt make many mistakes. We are fortunat e to have these two young flyhalves. I like the look of young Du Preez playing for WP as well.
