Stade Francais was after the  previous round top of the log and Lyon was way down on the log as no 9.   So what did they do - something they will regret for weeks to come.   They selected Morne Steyn as their starting flyhalf - the first time in more than a month - but never in the Top 14 series this series.   The inevitable happened Lyon beat Stade Francais 12-6

Now how did the flop do - the story is in full in the following stats:-

Steyn0/066/7/2800002/10/010/1

His tackle stats are routine - with a miss tackle ratio of 33,3%.    He gave away a penalty and got yellow-carded.

And there are dolts on this site who wants him in the Spr9ingbok team.

Paris (AFP) - South African fly-half Morne Steyn endured a miserable first start of the season for Stade Francais on Friday when he was red-carded in the Top 14 leaders' 12-9 defeat at Lyon.

Steyn, the 30-year-old top-scorer at the 2011 World Cup, had confidently kicked Stade into a 6-0 lead courtesy of a 40-metre penalty and a quick-thinking drop goal.

But after Mosese Ratuvou had cut the deficit with the night's opening try, Steyn saw red in the 31st minute for kicking the Fijian winger as the two tussled on the ground.

it was red. Still though as he was just tapping the player with his boot, red was extreme

So they were in the lead until Morne was carded incorrectly and he played only 31 minutes and in that time he landed a " quick thinking drop goal" .    Hmm once again the OOm warps the truth.

Look at his stats - he was no good and they were playing a  low ranked team to boot. One penaltiy and one drop goal against a try - what a massive lead that entails!!!!!!.   Yes it was a red card - the bugger kicked a Lyon's player and got red-carded.  Other than I said it was a yellow card - thew truth was glaringly clear in what I wrote above..
Morne started for the first time this year in Top 14 and it will be the last time - I am sure.  He is a bloody useless flyhalf - and that is a fact.

Morne's foul-up cost Stade Francais dearly - they lost their top spot on the Top 14 log.
