I feel it's quite disgraceful and insulting that such a pathetically average performance by old man Vic has been hyped up by our resident one eyed Vic supporter that I feel compelled to set the record straight given the so called schooling of PSDT who was literally 5 times better than the washed up has been.

So let's compare their stats on the day and you try tell me Vic schooled Pieter.

Vic gained all of 6m all game while PSDT gained 28m......by my reckoning close to 5 times more productive with ball in hand. All those metres by PSDT being imposing as ever. Moz says he was weak in contact - a lie but feel free to evidence him being weak in contact - I have the game recorded.

Vic never beat a single defender, PSDT beat 2 defenders.

Vic made zero clean breaks, PSDT made one clean break.

Vic made no offloads, PSDT made one.

Now for the line out crunch....the supposed area Vic ruled.

Vic the so called line out pro took all of 1 line out ball all game but also lost 1 line out.

PSDT took 6 line out balls losing none.

So given the evidence, which player was better.

It's not even bloody close. PSDT confirmed he is the new master and that Vic is a mere shadow of his former self. His stats are those of a player that had an average game.

When Mozart ignores stats completely - you know that he is punting a mirage he creates with imagined things.
Talking about stats - Matfield carried the ball 7 times for a territory gain of 6 meters beating NO defenders.
Elsewhere Mozart tried to create a mirage by writing how Matfield powered  his way through the Sharks before Serfomtein's try.   Powering his way through in fact would imply that Matfield gained some meters and beat defenders.   There was none of either - just another illustration of Mozart's deluded obsession with Matfield and the type of floral language used to hide the ugly truth.

cerudunce windpomp when a show pony like matfiled keeps staying in the game via some influence he has rather than performance I despise it. That is putting it mildly. I DESPISE HIS CONTINUED PARTICIPATION THE BOKS and no snide comments by you will alter that.
Messing up the Boks is totally unacceptable.

No Moz, the only bit of desperation is from you bullshitting us that old Vic was good when in fact he was even worse than I originally thought.

His only contribution was being a twat on the field......its a pity Bismark did not punch him properly, it would have been deserved.

Old man Vic was utterly useless, with a net gain of a big fat ZERO in the line outs and wait for it all of 6m gained all game.......really impressive performance from the old timer.......bwhaaaahaaaa

Sadly for you Moz, these stats expose you for the bullshit you speak

PSDT is 5 times the player wee Vic is.......the game showed it and the stats prove it.

Bring on the next game and my guess the margin will widen.

 Saffex
If you look at the stats of all the websites you will find that insofar as all sites are concerned in the first three games in Super 15 the situation was as follows:-
Testrugby
Pieter-Steph du Toit      =    750 pointsVictor Matfield              =    619 points
New Zealand herald stats
Pieter-Steph du Toit      =     84  points    Victor Matfield              =     54  points
Foxsport
Pieter-Steph du Toit      =      89 pointsVictor Matfield              =      65 points
There are massive differences between the performances of Du Toit and Matfield - showing Du Toit as vastly superior to Matfield.   Can it be that all the information on those three data-bases is wrong because Mozart thinks otherwise?
This actually is hilarious stuff - but one has to give credit to Mozart.   His loyalty in the face of overwhelming odds against Mozart - is admirable, but it border well within the stupidity range

No colouring anything cerudunce windpomp. MATFILED HAS USED SOME WEIRD INFLUENCE HE HAS TO keep his place in the Boks. I despise him for doing that. He is not a fool and must know he is not worth a place.Reminds me of the antics of John Smith re Bissie.

I hope you are clear on the issue ceruDUNCE  bUt given the lack of brain cells it could still be a problem!

I note that as a bulle supporter you say zip about that forward pass try. The silence is telling cerudunce!
Wake up Meyer show the show pony the door - ditto Ludeke!

Its only the hardcore groupies who cant see the facts before them.
Fancy ou cerudunce trying to suggest its wrong to despise victor's shockingly bad behaviour. His actions are threatening the Boks well being and further denying others the chance!!!! He tackle from behind on Bissie from an offside position and Bissie not having the ball. - all confirmed by Mallet - was very poor.
Show the show pony the door Meyer and Ludeke!
Assign ou ceruDUNCE windpomp  a place at Falconberg where he can be cared for appropriately! Hahahahahahahahaha

Please read the sentence properly and stop trying to score points .  What has your comment to do with the performances of Du Toit and Matfield on Saturday?

Its the beginning of a very long season, only three weeks into it.
PSDT spent most of last year on the sidelines resting his body, Victor played almost every week of the season. PSDT should have the higher work rate.
Things could be very different 12 weeks from now for either player.
They both should have their playing time managed and for the same reason - their age.

I don't think Steff is physical enough to mix it with the top locks. He is a rangy kid with poppy muscles, but no huge bulk. Nor is Matfield, but he doesn't try. Victor has developed specialty skills in linking, taking kickoffs, lineouts and defence. He is massively valuable when fully engaged. But at his age with the RWC in the offing, he will pace himself.

There is no better player, no better finisher for the four games that count.

Oh boy it gets better and better.....we have PSDT at 120kg and he is not bulky enough for lock. He is bigger than the majority of the test locks out there.
At 2.01m and 120 kg he is the perfect size for a lock.
Please talk us through poppy muscles possibly the biggest load of shit I have read this year.
PSDT not bulky enough bwhaaahaaaaa.
As for Vic that insult of a player has been pacing himself since his comeback and will do the same at the WC and with it he will cost us a spot in the semi s. He is the worst player on the field a complete liability these days of the highest note.

 Dave
You should realize by now that Mozart does not care about performance of players.   The only thing that counts with him is his imaginary world in which age is the determining factor.
"He is a rangy kid with poppy muscles, but no huge bulk"

120 kgs and no real bulk - is this madness or not?  What does Mozart call real bulk?   This type of comment showed us clearly that Mozart has lost something completely and that is any kind of player assessment.   He never had any real knowledge - now he makes statements confirming that and getting so far from reality that it is truly amazing.
"Victor has developed specialty skills in linking, taking kickoffs, lineouts and defence."
Linking in what - please provide details and examples.   Taking kick-offs - happened once so far in Super 15.   Line - out takes is  becoming an extreme rarity in the case of Matfield.   Defnse suddenly became a reason for his inclusion in the team because he does make tackles - but no question about the quality of his tackles.
"But at his age with the RWC in the offing, he will pace himself."
A nice excuse for not producing the goods.  He paced himself in the EOYT matches and is now pacing himself in the Super 15.   Does the pacing mean he is just a name on the teamsheet producing very little in support of the teams he is representing?    That is crazy in a team sport - where that typem of thing would destroy a team performance records.
Mozart - please stick to facts and figures - not to imaginary things that just does not happen in matches.

Yep apparently 120kg is no longer bulky enough.
Retallick, O'Connel, Lawes, Launchbury, Parling, Whitelock Simmons, Carter Alwyn- Jones  etc best chuck in the towel right now
