The USA is being drawn into another War by the scruff of their necks.   IS or ISIS looks an ugly lot.   THe Ausssies has joined up and send planes to operate over Iraq.

This morning I watched on TV the opening of the Dutch Parliament by King Willem Alexander - a major parade and the King and Queen in the Gold Coach.   The King spoke about the downed Malaysian Flight and indicated that the Dutch will be forced to take more adequate defensive measures - together with NATO and the EU - to protect the country - so more money to go to Defense.   Mind you - the reason why I watched it was Queen Maxima - she really is a beautiful and clever lady.   Be it as it may after the King finished the speech - all members of parliament rose to their feet and shouted "Lewe - die Koning" - quite funny to see the dour Dutch doing that.

So the whole Alliance of countries wants to see the end of ISIS - but will they?   That type of reactionary force use all kinds of weird attack mechanisms and I think Europe will get enough sabotage attempts to fill a book - and the Aussies too.

We must have a strong support base for ISIS in SA as wel and money will flow out to them like a flood - also young Muslim reactionaries to take up weapons - nothing in the papers yet - but I think there are some very worried people here as well.   Boko H aram is likely to become our own version of ISIS - so trouble galore.

And then there is Ukraine, Libya, Syria, Nigeria and the Gaza Strip as well - and we thought the Communists were weirdos - - what the hell is the present lot?

Remember the shortest book in History?It is the Arab list of war hero's.No camel jockey will ever enlist to go and do what needs to be done.

That's what happens when you keep moving the goal posts to accommodate all the radicals and freaks.
Check Paris...it looks like an city in Egypt.New York......they close part of the downtown core to all the Muslims to pray on Fridays.
General.....same sex weddings.Drugs....USA legalizing dagga.
It goes on and on leading to the decline of western culture and standards. S oon you will have to be either gay, muslim or a druggie to be the norm.

 No-one here but us penguins hehehe.....Cloudy as I was saying bizaare as it sounds even with an utter scumbag like Saddam the Iraqis were arguably better off , 100s of thousands dead ,corrupt politicians replacing the old regime of corrupt politicians economy destroyed .And women and kids suffer the most where previously in Iraq they had decent health care and education for women too mind you they now have what ?All our intervention has done is make it worse and at great cost to ourselves ,why should our people risk their lives when Iraqi soldiers bug out at the first opportunity ? Dont get me wrong I am glad that evil pr!ck is dead and buried but to get rid of him we killed 100s of thousands [ including all those kids dead from uneccessary sanctions over WMDs that didnt exist ] and replaced him with what ? The Saudis created ISIl and still support them so why should we do their dirty work for them ?And all ISL had to do was kill a few westerners [ horrific as it is] to push our buttons and off we go giving them what they crave , a US led coalition for them to rally support around so as to fight off the "great shaitan " or whatever.Leave them to it .

 I think the issue here is not the few westerners IS killed - it is the fact that they went for the Christian and oher minority religions - that is upsetting the Pope and a few others.  Religion and - don't think I am a bigot - women have caused nearly as many wars in the history of mankind as money did.
What is worse IS is a off-shoot of the Sunni Muslim component of Islam - and they are also going for the Shi-ite component - so it has all the igredients of an internal Islamic Civil War.  There is also the ingredients of a civil war with religious basis in there.
*   The Shi-ites are from Iran, Southern Iraq and parts of Syria and Lebanon.*   The Sunnis are basically from Saudi Arabia, the Gulf States, Egypt, Palestine and part of Iraq, Syria and Lebanon.
Throw in the Kurds with population spread over parts of Turkey, Iraq and Iran and the Jews of Israel and you have explosions happening all the time and getting more serious.   Throw in a juicy supply of oil and we have all the politicial suckers from the west doing the dirty work for all the various compnents involved.
In the mantime the Europeans have opened the gates for a flood of immigrants from Pakistan and other Muslim countries and now sits with a problem - many of the IS recruits are from those western countries and they will turn on their home countries sooner rather than later.   Australia also have the same problem.
All around - things are not looking good.   The extremists have various off-shoots  like -
*   Al Shabaab in Somalia;
*    Boko Haram in Nigeria, Cameroon and the Central African Republic;
*    Al Qaida in Afganistan, Pakistan, Egypt, Algeria and Mali;
*    Smaller off-shoots like Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in the Palestine;
*    "softer" Islamic Fundamentalist groupps in  Libya, Turkey and  Tunisia
and you really have a deadly mix engulfing the Middle East and North Africa.   What is really sick is the organisers and most active components are from parts of Russia, the West and Central Asia countries.
If things go on unabated  our Cloudy will soon have to wear a veil to cover her beautiful face and we would all be wondering where things went wrong.
It certainly is wrong and fools rush in where angels fear to tread.   Bush and Blaur started the farce in Iraq - a deadly misadventure that never should have been.  I will always remember what a French friend of mine said about that one.  He said the Americans do not know how to deal with Muslims - the French has expereience of that over more than 1000 years and they have learnt bitter lessons.   He added that the Americans will regret that for centuries to come.  Truer words have not been spoken.
We all know that Saddam Hussein and Gadaffi were really unsavoury very bad characters and so is Assad in Syria - but hell they kept the real loonies under control and we did not have the problems with them we are having now.   The Muslims do not care for democracy -  they accept the "Caliphs", the bloody dictators that have ruled them for centuries. The West try and get rid of them and always seems to end up with eggs in the face.
What a disaster!!!!!!!!!

 Man is incapable of governing himself decently. It's the lesson of history with its unending sequence of conflicts.Unfortunately the worst is yet to come. There is coming a period of  7 years when the anti christ will rule the world. Now that will be really horrific. There are a number of indicators that we are getting close but there are no dates that can be given. Could still be awhile off but could be sooner than one thinks.

I will also be worrying - if I was an All Black supporter.   The saying pride comes before the fall is looming in this case and it is likely to be a severe fall.   Mark my words.   It only depends on Meyer's selections and those could be crucial.

Now JW here's where I have a real beef, you say:

"No worries mates normalcy will be restored."

Why has the perfectly elegant "normality" been replaced by a clunker like "normalcy"?

I am not in favour of dictatorships at all - but there are people just incapable of governing theselves.   Gadaffi was removed and where are they now - in absolute chaos.   Dis he do worse than the present lot?    Same with the others.  Where is Iraq heading?  Another dictatorship even orse than Saddam Hussein.
Some people just accept it that a dictator can do as he pleases.   The King of Saudi Arabia was on a hunting trip to a game farm in SA.   When the owner and the King was on the abck of a van - the King told his assistants  not to touch the owner - a friend of mine - under no circumstances.  One of them by accident did and the King shouted at him and he fell down pleading for mercy.  The king started kicking him and the guy was badly injuured because he not dared not protect himself.   It afterwards transpired the guy was lucky - if it happened in Saudi Araba he would have been dead before suncet.   My friend told me another story about the King.  He satyed longer than planned and then asked for his account.   My friend told him  it was $150 000 dollars for the 10 days.  The King took our a check book and wrote out a checque for  150 000 pounds - and my friend said he will get the change from his safe - but the King said there was no change needed.
The moral of the story is - is the King of Saudi Arabia any better than Saddam Hussein was - I doubt it very much.   Some of the dictators are a bit milder than others - but they are all dogs.

 Saddam was a vile arshole who could have been taken down without taking his whole nation down with him ,inflicting more death and suffering for what end ? Has all the wests sacrifice for people who hate our guts had any good effect ?Nope none at all .Strange how before the first Gulf war SAddam was supposed to be the "good' guy and the west turned a blind eye to all his evil garbage so long as he was at war with the right people IE: Iran .Let them use Saudi blood this time maybe those guys can all thin each other out while we give humanitarian aid to those who need it .Mike I was shearing on a South Australian property in the 80s when one of the SAudi princes came to see his new property .His imam and all his flunkies picked out an old wether said their prayers or whatever and then killed it in a most inhumane fashion ,they then tossed the quivering carcase on a fire and ate it half raw half burnt .The way all his entourage sucked up to him with all the bowing and scraping was disgusting to our  egalitarian eyes ,which may be why the prick actually took a liking to us as we treated him like the over monied barbarian that he was!

The king of Saudi is better than Saddam was, for one reason. He never tried to trade oil in Euros. Kinda makes him better than Khadafi too, for trying to trade African commodities in gold. Anything other than the Petro-Dollar and you are an evil scum bag, even though we were best buds yesterday.
Watch out BRIC nations...these meetings where you conspire to cut the US out of the loop will result in you being labelled Communist Ninja Currie Eaters who are way to good at football and must be killed right freaking now!

I may have to quote a certain rock band here and say...

Something like an enemy of my enemy is my friend!!!   Saddam fought a long war against Iran and that made him America's agent in the ME.   Like all dictators he got glutonous and wanted Kuwait as well - all that lovely oil in one basket and that was not in the interest of the US and the English - so get him out of there.
Fine - that was Ok - but then Bush and Blair saw the oil situation in a different light and tried to find a pretext for war - so up come the "weapons of mass destrcution" fib.   It all along was a lie and they got caught out - thee was no such weapon.   So suddenly the tune was changed to a need to remove the dictatorship and instal democracry as a reason for the War.
I do not buy that kind of BS - thy wanted to lay their diry little fingers on the oil of Iraq - nothing else.  Nobody thought of he consequences - and what have we today?   One gigantic mess that will not be solved in another generation or more.
The Amrecians must be very unhappy wih the present sceanrio and nothing boost economies like another war.   The US economy is in the doldrums - so get the arms manufacturing and supportive industries going - nothing articially boost the economy more than another war - the money printing presses can run 24 hours a day under such circumstances.
See I am cynical when it comes to world politics.   The politicians will sell their mothers if they can gain enough out of it.

I enjoyed it thoroughly and for those who might be interested it is revealing to the outcome of WW2.

 Seb
When I was in matric, I was the top History student in school,   Those days they gave book prizes to top scholars and the later Chariman of Parliament - Dr Helgard van Rensbrg - a coiusinof my mother - asked what book price I wanted,   My answer was  War and Peace.
I always was intensely interested in Russia as a ccountry and as a people.   I intensely disliked the Communist Regime and the reason was their suppression of the Russian people.   I - like amny others I am sure - never foresaw the damise of the Communist Government in the USSR.    However, I think the best thing which could have happened was that day in 1992 when Yeltsin mounted that tank before the Russian Parliament Building and the Communist system collapsed.   Dictatorship is an abomination and to my mind that was what was correct for Russia.
I went to Europe on holiday in 1993 and my first priorty was to go to Russia.   I spent 8 weeks in russia and met some wonderful and friendly people.  It was a hard time financially for the people of Russia - but they were kind and friendly and very helpful. Those I met were cultured people wih a real interest in the hsitury and culture of Russia.
My experiences were so much different from what I have seen in the endless string of Hollywiid movies that made a horrible impression on people.   I remain an admirer of the Russin people and think they are getting a raw deal from Western Progaganda.
I am not sold on Ukraine as an indepndent country - theyhave been part of the Tzarist and Soviet empiree for centuries ever since the reign of Catherine the Great, but appreciate there are cultural differences between Ukrainians and Russians.   As far as I am aware the Ukrainians suffered badly under especiallyStalin and the compensation after his death - the Soviet Republic of Ulraine as given authority over areas which was essentially Russian - such as Crimea and Eastern Ukraine.   That being the case - I would much rather see some present Ulrainian areas being part of the Russian Federation - buit to my mind that should be decided not by war - but by a free and democratic eection.
If Dcotlad can have a referndum on independence - then so could Eatern Ukraine.   But then the election should follow democratic principles and not arranged and monitored by only one party.   The other peaceful method would be to rather jhave a Urainian Federation  with extensive federal p[owers - rather than the one system that could oppress the minorities.
Be it as it may - there are so many intersts at stake here - that it is not surpsing there is war and mayhem and no politicians are really innocent in that.  Lets hope a peaceful and lasting solution is possible in that case.

Really man.
Jesus - Go forth and spread love to your fellow man.
Disciples - Even to the blacks and gays?
Jesus - Did i stutter?

Cummon guy, someone's sexual orientation and their expression of it is their basic human right. You must have a lot of hate in you, or maybe repressed feelings. What you and Arthur have said is so ridiculously offensive and narrow minded that it boggles.
People are different man. Why hate them if what they do doesn't affect you in any way. I'll never understand that! Do you realise that the vast majority of people who are gay are simply born that way? Imagine if people hated you because you were hetero.

So then it must mean that you feel hetrosexuality is only about "conventional" sex. Wow, your wife/gf must be a happy girl.
