agreed BB, Wales allmost beat the Boks at the start of the year. At first I just thought it was a slow start to the year and things were getting like last year. This tour confirmed the Boks have gone backwards..

I've had enough of Hougaard.

Did we even create one credible scoring opportunity? I can't remember
any. The Lambie hype remains just that - hype.
In Reinach we did the impossible by finding a scrumhalf with even
slower service than Pienaar. Count the steps he takes first one way, then backwards when he throws the pass that Lambie drops. Headless chicken. Slow, headless chicken. And then Hougaard comes on...
Vermeulen can hold his head high, as always, while Etzebeth had a fine
game too.

Well Meyer can thank Wales for their ineptitude in the last 20, otherwise they would and should have been 20 points clear of the Boks by the final whistle.

Kannie and hogat the two Boks who wear ther IQ on their backs. We need FDP back to control things going forward or backward. Our bright young stars were a total fail today.

...Bean Brain, not the first time on tour Meyer's been schooled by the Kiwi coaches... mate anytime you need a rugby education , just ask the Kiwis... clever move by JDV as well disappearing when the going got tough..but isn't the captain supposed to go down with the sinking ship...?

So, what to make of this game? Probably the most boring game of the whole Autumn Series in the NH. Appreciate the fact that SA were without a number of 1st team players, but having said that, this was the least enterprising Bokke side I have seen in many years. Sad to say that no side looked like scoring a try through flair, where is the game heading based on todays's performance.? Wales deserved the victory IMO, SA not only looked as if they didn't have a plan B to revert to, but more importantly, they didn't even seem to have a plan A to start with. There comes a time when an international coach has to throw caution to the wind and let the players actually express themselves, sadly, neither coach allowed this today ! A very disappointing international played between 2 very average teams. They both need to seriously improve over the next 6 months, and, if coached correctly (? ) may move forward based on today's performance.I would imagine both camps will be unhappy with their tactics, but Warren Gatland will be the happier of the 2 and declared a national hero by those too blind to see !

Welcome back Cosh.
Itwas a Mallet said an error strew match. Mallet was of the opinion Wales are not really a world Cup threat. Probably right based on this performance. Boks shot themsleves in trhe foot but frankly it has to be a good result as Meyer needs to rethink. No more time to be wasted on geriatrics. Jean will probably be out for a while and we could see Jan and Allende operating as the center combo. Matfiled has to go and out goes oupa.I cant see why anybody can complain about Reinach. Meyer must abandon any idea that Lambie is better than Pollard Its an absurd conclusion to draw. And yes I am aware Pollard tried for too much when kicking for touch near the end. He is world class and must be the preferred flyhalf.I am not worried about our props or locks if all are fit and correctly selected. The quality is there. Meyer needs another loosie to complement Vermuelen (who should have been man of the match and IRB player of the year) and Coetzee.I would love to have seen what Kriel could do with that speed of his. Carr was clearly better than oupa.
The yellow card probably cost us the match and was a poor decision. It apears there can be no aerial contest for the ball according these NH oaks.
Comment in bad taste brycy . Jean has dislocated his knee and could be out for 6 months.

We really suck...big time...delusions and fantasies... we live in the past...typical Saffa mentallity...quite honestly I'm no longer proud of my country of inheritance...we are lovely people but very stupid...we suffer in rugby and cricket because the way we think..we really get caught up with propaganda...our politics smells so badly, we are lost souls...sport in rugby and cricket is the common man's toothlessness to our answer in a world that in we cannot compete.Dream on...I'm sure we won't win this obstacle...neither bigger issues...enough said !

Pollard is our future but let's call a spade a spade, he was poor today. That miss to touch ffor a line out drive probably cost us the game. Problem is he has history with missing touch having missed at least 4 in the home OZ AB games. Easy to overlook when you win . But just ask Morne what happens when you loose. I have to agree the card was pathetic .

Hasbeeno, still think Willie is the best fullback running around and that Pollard's "world class"?Bwahaha etc etc.......

...Bean Brain yr right, was a great result...off to the TAB to cash in on that one thanks very much mate...still not too late to back Samoa to take out Pool B in next years RWC...paying NZ $10 so easy money going by todays performance and with Nanai Williams, Leiua etc coming in to the team it's a steal...

Correct me if I'm wrong but in the last 20 minutes we had a team awash with young hopefuls, the type of team many on this forum have been itching for....Matfield being the only "geriatric"....so what happened guys?
30 Nov 2014, 02:43#23
That last 20 minutes was filled to the brim with scrums and Wales timewasting.

Denny: you are right, there were a lot of hopefuls for the Boks in this game. That is the main reason for the loss IMO. The coach wanted to test his depth & it clearly showed this is not too good.
Wales was clearly slowing the game down, like the Poms did. I hope the refs keep this under control.
Sorry to see De Villiers injured.
