There's nothing wrong with Jannie

We'll see this season.   I think Jannie is far too much on the wrong side of 30 to keep on producing the goods.   

At the end of the season, Jannie was not looking good...it stood out a mile...over used and played in the most physical position on the field...because he was over played. OK he's approaching the wrong side of 30...I agree Mike but this was exacerbated by obvious over playing...he really looked genuinely knackered. Also there are a number of good young players that could have been substituted...he was just flogged to death by the coaches in the Boks and Sharks. There's the difference between proper utilisation and extreme over utilization. I believe a rested Jannie is still good for another season but after that I think he should bow out gracefully while the going is good and not become another old man in the side. He is a very powerful and strong scrummager when match fit.

I'm hoping that a good break will prove that his critics are wrong.

Moz, I like the Shark players but not to the degree of biasness, certainly I'm a great admirer of the players in all sides in SA that warrant fair and square and not only that but in other countries as well...each country has exceptional players even minnow countries like Georgia...take Mamuka Gorgodze, who plays his rugby in France...one of the greatest no 8, who can play on the flank and engine room as well, at least he was in his prime...I'm not into biasness in any form...give credit when it's due...

Jannie was (and still is) one of my favourite players...

 Jannie is okay in the scr ums but not great out of them. Malherbe is the man. I hope he gets fit and stays fit. 

Jannie is good, but we have better youngsters in Coenie, Marcel v/d Merwe and Malherbe.....its time to move on
