I am not sure that the bleating about the ref was not justified, After all World Rugby made a statement factually supporting the concept that the refereeing was not up to standard,
However, there is one issue also applicable - Read must be careful about what he says to and about referees. It could have nasty consequences for him in future, Anyway, the AB's won the game and that in the end is all that counts.

Ou maaik I have not seen one game where someone hasn’t bleated about a ref’s call it’s part and parcel of the game........it shouldn’t be.....but that’s the nature of the beast....refs are not robots..............they make mistakes...........
But to take that one step further and say they deliberately cheat and take bribes is bullshit.......we have lost quality refs of the game because of mistakes they made............
It’s all too common to lose one’s profession because of one mistake..........it’s fucking wrong. While I don’t like shit calls...............I detest the witch hunts and that’s what I see in here............pricks that want to see them nailed to a cross.
If it weren’t for these refs.........we wouldn’t even have a game..........and noooooo...........I might endorse what rooi says...........but I’m not him he’s way too smart for me.

That in fact was a tongue in cheek statement about the bribe - not serious at all. Sorry Trad about that remark,
I am afraid the Press release of World Rugby confirmed that the reffing was not up to standard and me should accept that it was not. From the statement of Proudfoot in the press it was clear that Erasmus laid a complaint with World Rugby and that the statement was made because of that,
Otherwise the matter would not be raised in the media about the issue - if only an internal investigation was held it would have remained internal.
I think witch hunts are unjustified and unfair - but one cannot stop comments in reffing decisions on site. From the start it was clear that there were numerous problems in the reffing of the AB- Springbok game. Maybe I lost my temper when I saw the Read incident involving Du Toit - because that was clearly a thing that should never happen in Rugby.
In general I do not complain about referees and you would have noticed that I only started contributing after the Read issue became evident.
Anyway - lets bury the hatchet and start on a sound footing.
