What conditions?

As I recall, we played one game in the rain.

Am I wrong about that?

Edit; wait, was it actually raining in Cape Town?

Wasn't raining all match, only light rain for a short time, but the pitch would have been very soggy and slippery...rained a lot earlier.

There are still limitations in the Bok attacking game plan, but this is probably more down to 12 and 13 passing and playmaking skills. Jessy Kriel is not a great passer, and his running lines tend to isolate him from support runners. Delande has his days, but is a short passer.

Look at the Argentinian centres, and they are just better playmakers and natural passers. They run varied lines and give support runners chances to run off at different angles.

When Willemse was at 12 against the All Blacks, the Boks just seemed to have more options on attack.

Arg2 - Back to stampkar skop en jaag to close out the RC

That’s the whole point. Whenever we have to win we go back to Stampkar. Which inevitably means a wrestling match with a close score….the WC 3 1 point wins. Inevitably if we keep playing these arm wrestle games we are going to lose a big one.

But when we open up, we put big scores on the Board….granted against Oz we forgot we had to defend as well.

Yeah, it feels a bit like Rassie is worried about a speed wobble.

I say, open up the engines and get used to playing high tempo balls to the wall attacking rugby. Nobody seems able to live with us when we do that. The ABs looked stunned into paralysis when we showed them no respect and ran past them.

There really is no point in arm wrestling when we have the best roundhouse kick in the world. Granted, as Draad says, conditions might dictate a slower game now and then. But should be the only factor. We can't go back into our shells every time there is a big game. The reason the old ABs were that good was because they got used to winning with attacking rugby. We now have the cattle and momentum to surpass what they were.

Brown has been great for the Boks - far more attacking clout, more tries scored, more interplay between backs and forwards, forwards attacking out wide, more passes made therefore less kicking

Great call by Rassie to bring Brown on board - yet another master stroke

I am aways amazed by what the experts describe as ru gby since theya e struck in what Mozart used to call Traditional Springbok Rugby. lets fgo back in hsitory to what happened since 1995 in Spring bok rugby, It was totally based on forward domination playing 10-men rugby. In 1007 Du Plessis wa apppointed as coach and he made a cear statement - the Springboks were unable to score tries, He started to put together a team where the backline came into play and where the loosies became part of atacking rugby.

The ssituation was that Du Plesis put together a backline to play attacking rugby - but it took time and within4 months the Springboks beat the BRI Lions abd Aussies by the bigg est score evcer, Mallett succeeded Du Plessis and Made two backline changes to the team he inherited from Du Plessis - he selcted Moore as no 12 and move Montgomery to ful back. Be it as it may under Mallettt the Springboks in 1997 and 1998 played 15 man rugby and won 16 tests in a row, However, by the end of 1998 players had to be replace players and that did not produce the hoped for results. When Mallett left it was back to 10 man rugby with teh backline being neutralized totally.

White was the high priest of ten-man rugby and thatsituation remained in place until 2018 - when Eramus had to rebuild Spring bok team from scratch. When Erasmus took over the Chief Coach the pringboks were ranked as the number 7 team in the world. One example in 2018 the Springboks abckline scored more ries than the whole Springboks team scored in 2012. The re-building program included expansion and planning of better usage of the Springbok backline as an attacking team. Progress was made and the Sprngboks won the 2019 RWC to the surprise of virtually all rugby experts.

Since then the Springbks started really playing top backline play and in 2024 and 2025 the team was virtualy unbeatable. The fact is that a new game plan was developed in which the weak points of the opposing backline and coaching the Springboks backline. That was basically stemming from the appointment of Brown as attack coach for the Springboks - whose role waas parttly to integrate the looses into becoming part of the Springboks backline attacks, For Mozart and otherss that component was nopt seen and they keep on prachin g baout backline attacks - while th Springboks scored increasing backline attacking tries.

All of white, De Villiers, Meyer and coetzee never had any game plans. there were neve any plan connected to scoring of ties since 2004 and the chna ges made wasnot noticed by Mozartand others. They screm about kciking of balls wthout realizing the difference between kcking bein part of ny attacking plan because they do not realize the differnece between strategic kickin g and aimless BS that reigned supreme until 20017.

Well, well well what do have here. More whining and cimplaining by the MGU!. Their moaning and whinging never ends.

Du Toit cant fetch, can't make meters and really isn't much good. The highly effective Wiese is dumb muscle. Kolisi is useless. Eben is over the hill. Nortje is a powderpuff.

Five forwards are all sub par with only the front row avoiding criticism. Although even here Rassie makes the error of starting the more mobile and better all round player Thomas Du Toit.

Then the backline plays stampkaar rugby. Their attack is really sub par. They really have no idea. Witness the lack of tries against the lawless off side specialists Ireland. Talk about a bent ref!

They make the "mistake of varying their game depending on conditions and opposition.

The moaning and whining would be acceptable if we were playing rugby that resulted in us being out of the top 5 or 6 in the World. However it has escaped the MGU that we are number 1 in the World, consequetive World cup winners and this year won the Rugby Championship and went undefeated playing away in the NH against teams like France and Ireland.

It's all been a disaster. Rassie doesn't know what he us doing. Brown is being shackled. The idea that Brown is not making us attack like our idols the wee abs is rediculous think the Mamparas. Making the Bok attack plan align with Bok strengths is pure nonsense opine daft ignorant arm chair critics.

Clearly these Monumentsl Malignant Mamparas live in an upside down world with little understanding of rugby.

Stick with mozzietard has the be the funniest comment ever! Bwahahahahahahaha.

In closing the center pair we need to try this year are Willemse and Moody.
