Six Nations is just around the corner.

Not sure who the favourite is Ireland or England to win in 2015. France is always unpredictable. 


Anyone like to have a crack at forming a competitive team out of the best NH has to offer?


Try not you use more than five players from one country if possible . Include players that are currently injured if you want.

 Awesome I am backing England to win the 6 nations. The side looks to be coming of age.Are all their front line players fit?
Ireland and Wales are a cut below England from what I have briefly seen.

 Beano, A difficult one to predict. I am still trying to gauge the strength of the NH teams so i  am fishing for clues. Know your enemy as the saying goes- derived from Sun Tzu's The Art of War.

Wales and Ireland also rate their 6 Nations chances after beating SA recently.

France is average one day and can be dangerous the next so I wouldn't completely write them off either. 


From a fantasy football perspective I'm also looking for the best players in every position to score me the optimum amount of points. You can't pick the whole English team for example as you are generally restricted to a maximum of five players from each team. So a broader in-depth knowledge of all the teams is required. So I might pick something like this:

 Well not to brag Awesome, but I won the last fantasy Six Nation competition for this website and there's names in that former players team that I wouldn't go near in my selections. Mainly because their not even seen as starters or bench players.

The Testrugby Fantasy competiton has no restrictions on how many players you can pick from any one team. You can pick your entire team from one country if you like.

 From that team in particular? Foden, Mermoz, Medard, Phillips, Ferris, Castrogiovanni and Servat aren't first choices in their positions or get many points.

 Both have played both positions, I prefer it like that because Fofana barely ever passes so should be placed wider.

 Two questions please:-
*   S exton has not played any rugby since November - what is going on?*   After a poor display for England -  Farrell seems to be out of favour - will George Ford be the top selction?
I suspect S exton is not interested in playing for Racing Metro anymore and that - as Ceradune said earlier - he has an "arrangment"  with Tacing about not playing - but what is really going on?

 George Ford goes into the Six Nations as the form 10, yes.But Farrel had been out injured for quite some time and had only played about ninety minutes of a Rugby before being chucked out against NZ. He will still be there or thereabouts. The boy is not a bad player at all and I am quite sure those two will chop and change the number 10 shirt between them. 

Goodness knows when Tuilagi is going to play again. Leicester hope to have him back soon, but the wait goes on !!!

 Clevermikey, I see S exton after his fourth concussion in a year has been stood down and will miss the opening 6 Nations match against Italy.


Paddy Jackson looks like a pretty handy replacement to have fill in for him all the same  .

Prefer Saffex's choices...not a bad side....Awesome Sergio Parisse plays for Italy, indeed he captains the side....you put him in as France... incidentally he is an Argentine originally.

Thanks for the explanation.   I noted that since the start of the Club season in France at thhe end of August - S exton only played in nine matches - three of which was the tests in November 2014 -  in other words he has been under-played by his club as well.    
So he will be rested till the start of the 6-nations as well.    I also noted that after a string of very good performances Goosen was rested by Racing metro this weekend as well - I suppose because Racing was playing one of the weaker sides in Top 14.   
However, I have still problems with Farrell - to my mind he is a rather slow decisionmaker - which is why i prefer George Ford at flyhalf for England.    
Insofar as Fantasy Rugby is concerned - you have to play some cheap players to make sure that you stay within Budget.   Ford will be cheap - if he does play - or maybe Lopez.   
The competition Shezza is talking about will be on Test Rugby and you can easily Google it and join up.   Please not that in that case you will have to select only twelve players on the following basis:-
2 Ouside backs2 Ceters 2  Halfbacks2  Loosies2  Locks2  Front Row Players
The Budget for player purchases is 12 000 000 and top players like S exton for instance, will cost in excess of 1 200 000.   You can at most select 8 top players anf then must find 4 cheapies costing less than 900 000.   Tri cky to say the least.

Playing Tuilagi at 12 and Fofana at 13 would stupidity beyond imagine. Firstly Tuilagi has no creativity at all, is a finisher and therefore belongs at 13. Fofana is one of the best creative 12's in the business. The notion that he does not pass is rubbish.
Its a no brainer......Fofana is a 12 and Tuilagi a 13......unless you want to play a crashball 12

I always thought that Farrell is too much like Morne Steyn to really be a good flyhalf - much better than Steyn tough - but still not a top decssionmaker.

 Tuilangi has played 12 plenty enough before and has more creativity than the rest of the NH centers, Fofana has creativity in the sense that he steps and creates space not so much in getting his runners to play off him. Might want to watch a few more France and Clermont game and see how the ball often dies with him as he's a selfish player.

Bullshit Tuilagi is not creative, he is a basher, does not have the rugby nous or brain for a 12......no deft touches......he is a finisher.
Mike, Farrell is a much better rugby player than Morne.......he has allround skills and good physicality........he is able to attack, is very good defensively. Right now he is out of form but a handy enough player.

 Well, I am no Dr nor am I party to their various medical records, Beeno....but one would hope so ! 
Corbisiero is still injured, Tuilagi is not yet recovered, Croft is just back to fitness as are Parling and Tom Youngs. Mako Vunipola was back a couple of weeks ago. The situation ebbs and flows.
Dylan Hartley has, of course, just been sent off against Leicester, so his England future is possibly in doubt. He was told another lapse in discipline would put his place in jeapardy. He was in the last chance saloon after the last infringement. So, wait and see ! 
And yes, Mike....Saffex is correct. Farrell is a far better player than Steyn will ever be. You have him all wrong.

England need Corbisiero and Tuilagi back......although Marler is doing a good job these days. Croft is a good player but getting on now. Youngs is a good impact hooker. 
I dont rate Parling at all.........Launchbury, Lawes, Attwood and Kruis are all better

Parling is more intelligent than Kruger.....and remember, he used to play for Northampton so I am well aware of him ! And I like an old style Lock sometimes....not just a lump of muscle. I like my men to have a bit of a brain too

There is no place for an old style lock in the modern game if you want to win tests......choice of Parling vs Kruger.....I'd take Kruger and he is average.
