Tsituka brothers
I saw that he played at 4 lock for Sharks, probably adding more versatility, but not sure he is tall enough for a traditional SA lock.
Emmanuel has shone through now that his brother is at the sharks.
Our loose forward cupboard is looking great at the moment. Just hope we can keep them in SA.
Not sure how many caps they would e arn, given that we have Louw, Roos, Wiese, PSDT, Kolisi, Van Staden etc.
Have to agree on the young #8 in the Lions game.
He showed speed, strength and was very active in the loose.
Trust that his skill is observed by the guys in the SARU.
Both brothers has got real talent...hopefully they will get a chance....would also prefer them over van staden.
Here are my looseforwards picks along with some of the existing loosies. Still think we are short on a great 6 or fetcher. Kolisi is to my mind a 7 and an attacking player, but he is not as physical as a genuine 7.
Hacjivah Dayimani (25) 188cm 99kg 7 + 8
Evan Roos (22) 191cm 109kg 8
Emmanuel Tshituka (22) 194cm 106kg 7, 8
Vincent Tshituka (24)195cm 107kg 7, 4
Ruan Venter (20) 198cm 118kg 7, 4, 5
Pepsi Buthelezi (23) 188cm 102kg 6, 8
Elrigh Louw (23) 195cm 112kg
Jasper Wiese (27) 190cm 110kg 8
Kwagga Smith (29) 180cm 95kg 8,7, 6
Marco van Staken (27) 184cm 106kg 6
Siy Kolisi (31) 188 105kg, 6,7
PSDT (30) 200cm 120kg, 7,5
Jean Luc Du Preez (27) 193cm, 113kg 8,7
Dan Du Preez (27) 196cm, 112kg 8, 4
Juarno Augustos (24) 187cm 116kg, 8
SA rugby playing again the race card. Their failure to bring rugby to the local population never ceases to amaze. SA rugby best failure in human history. Can not be beaten.
Already stated but worth being repeated: since SA rugby have only one obsession, having quota players in the international squad to hide the appaling situation of rugby in SA, they should look at poaching quota talents from the North. At least, they would be drilled in playing rugby.
".....but not sure he is tall enough for a traditional SA lock....."
No that's not right, he's my height and I'm the same height as Victor Matfield.
Something wrong, I stood next to Matfield with my arm over his shoulder and we were the same height but I'm not 2.01
Dave, I have a photo of Matfield and myself taken in the hotel lobby where we stayed in Newcastle. Obviously won't post the photo but I can assure you we stood side by side and as I've said I had my arm around his shoulder. Bakkies instead made me feel like a dwarf, he is enormous.
Anyway, no matter.
The younger Wiese has not stood out as much for me or seen his name that often pop up in the media. Coetzee has been injured for some time now and hardly featured for bath. Ackerman has had a few good games for Gloucestershire but he has gone quite since his dad left for Japan.
I just wish that an SA franchise would get the Du Preez twins back in SA.
I remember that Currie Cup game when they were snubbed by Coetzee and Nacho got selected ahead of them. They completely destroyed the forwards and Nacho had no answer to their physicality. Every time he touched the ball that would literally pick him up and drive him into the ground. Just a pity our coaches don't know how to utilise them. Talk about adding physicality to your pack.
But, I saw Wiese having another stellar game for Leicester over the weekend. 27 Carries which was an insane amount for a player.
Augustus Groot has also been playing well for Northampton and finally living up to use u21 player of the tournament. But I'm not sure if he is even in the same class as Evan Roos or the Tsisuka brothers.
But if I had to pick a succession list in the order I believe would ensure that we have a great conveyer belt of inform and at their peak players then I would order the list as follow
6. Kwagga, Van Staden, Pepsi (Pepsi reminds me of Savea and Hooper)
7. PSDT, Jean Luc Du Preez, Elrich Louw, Tsituka, Venter
8. Roos, Wiese, Dan Du Preez, Handre Lieben berg, Dyamani, Augustos
But the stormers have two very promising 6 in Junior Pokemelo and Nama Xaba. Xaba is a real ball hawk but with have picked a number of injuries, but it is because he sticks his head in.
Junior Pokomela (25) 190cm 108kg, 6
Nama Xaba (25) 185cm 103kg, 6
Physical freaks in the Groucho Marx mould, they keep dropping things. Now the Burundi cousins are a different story 2 metres/120kgs/ 100metres in 11 seconds. Still a bit inexperienced they are both only 16 I see a huge future for these chaps. Men in this family apparently top out at 300kgs but apparently lose a bit of pace with the last 20 or so kgs.
