That's a bit of a problem for loud mouthed Stormer bashers like RooiAAS. But it is also beginning to raise some red flags on Lambie in the 10 jersey. His kicking is superb, but I wonder, what exactly is it that he does that Morne doesn't?
Two full matches against the Stormers....and no Sharks tries

With respect - this issue has been debated elsewhere and the conclusion is that Lambie - having been treated atrociously last year before the EOYT by Meyer - has fallen for the Meyer's game plan lock stock and barrell. He - I believe - realize that Morne Steyn all along was Meyer's favourite flyhalf and he is trying to remain equal or beat Steyn in his game. It really is no use - since Meyer will pick Steyn to play according to his dinosaur game plan - which has been discarded as totally ineffective by all top teams - whether on international. provincial or club level.
I am sure that Morne will be back at flyhalf in June and that the rest of the year that disaster is certain. Steyn away from Loftus missed a number of kicks at goal - and is going the same way as last year. Morne remains the death of SA backline rugby.
Oh I forgot, it's all Meyer's fault.
The three top Sa ides have socred the same amounty of tries but the sharks got a lot of theirs against the rebels. There they ran the ball very well. However once their forwards were matched they couldnt do it. You earn the right to run the ball so a large extent. Good turnover ball and go forward ball is what you want.
Get the palyers back and both the Sharks and Stormes tries will increase.
Meyer is the default position.
I have a little sympathy for Mike but I am not as extreme. Want first to see the squad Meyer finally selects and what game he plays. I expect to see some team development and an improvement on attack. Not asking for the world but definite progress.
What has to be noted however is that the Kings and Cheetahs score more tries with lesser personel perhaps. I rather like the look of the Kings scrummie Venter is it? Biggish but with a great step and likes to run.
What flyhalves are actually dazzing with their running game?
None.....the much lauded Bleyendaal is just another Morne/Lambie.....but he can't be trusted to make the winning kicks as we saw against the Sharks.
Beeno
The flyhalf names you want are ample:-
* Cruden
* Cooper
* Foley
* O'Connor
* Noakes
* Parker
* Catrakillis
Never heard of the above players?????????

Yes - forget about it, But the backjline play malady got worse since last year - instead of improving. The Sharks backline deterirorated badly since last year and in more than one way can be traced back to Lambie - who wants to play like Morne Steyn - to ensure his retention in the Springbok team. That again can be traced back to Meyer's crazy idea that we have not got backline players that can play attacking rugby and his game plan that all other leading sides has been abandoning due to the new rules and the ease that it can be defended against.
When people like John Smith and Drotske has reservations about that - I have certainly got plenty of grouund to base my arguments on.
Yes I have heard of Cooper.....the guy who's lack of guts knocked Oz out of the RWC. Cruden is the only flyhalf you mention who has proven he can do it at highest levels. But of course the fact that one guy is capable, doesn't mean we have a similar player. Goosen might be a candidate but there are lots of questions.

With respect - as I understood - the question of Beeno hear relates to flyhalves who get their backlines operational and performing better other Super 15 teams. I did not take it that they would perform well on international level.
I believe that there are very good reasons for Copper to be ecluded from the Aussie squad - but those are not necessarily related to performance - but rather conduct on and off the field of play.
Inaofar as the rest of the players is concerned I think Cruden at times played well and he is likely to be somewhere in the All Black squad. For the rest I believe O;Connor has the inside track as Wallaby flyalf and Foley may end up on the bench for the Waratahs, since he can also play at center wing and full back,
The other players mentioned are definitely not internationsl standard players. They really function well at Super 15 iinsofar s flowing backline play is concerned. In that respect - even the weakest one amongst those mentioned (Parker) is better than what we have in respect of that activity.
