There appeared to be some distance between the black and white players in that first half. Nkosi looked miserable and walked away from Reinach after his first try instead of congratulate him. Jantjies had a little bit of tension with Reinach after his other try. There were a couple of other things that looked a little iffy too. Is there some division within the ranks???? Willemse looked pretty surprised by Steyn going over to celebrate his try. Almost took a step back. Things dont look quite right from outside in.

Knuckle, I'll say this slowly so that it hopefully penetrates your thick unpenetrable bonehead.

A little while back there was a discussion on backline play, a trickle of posters made comment alongside of myself. Your take was that Jantjies would ignite the backline, my take was entirely different. Do you remember the debate? As a matter of fact it was a repeat of a debate we had quite some time bac k.

Whoooosh

What's the point of trying to discuss anything with you.

Dave, you have a very simple make up, we could get on fine if I agreed with everything you say.....everyone can get on with you if they agreed with everything you say.

You cannot discuss/debate. You've just proven what I've come to believe of you.

Go to bed......please do.

I would not want to debate rugby with you Denise. I know we have been slinging mud at eachother here but on a serious note there are many on here who have good rugby knowledge which I respect and love to challenge. You are not one of them. You offer nothing on the subject. You just add bits like a following sheep If you left this board no one would miss you unlike say for instance Moz or Pakie or Rooi You are like a fart - loads of smell with no substance

Bonehead, I didn't ask to debate you, as I've said, there is no point, you don't understand what debating means. You've been squawking about me being a coward and squealing for an answer to a question so to prevent you from waking up the neighborhood and going purple I tried to tell you that I'd answered your question in a previous debate. I couldn't make it any simpler.

And here, proof of your style of "debate"...

Willie is never a weakness he is just not on fire at the moment, but then nor are Faf and Pollard.

Willie in form is one of the best players in the game. One of the very few who are able to create something from nothing

Only a rugby dud would conclude he is not worthy

"Only a rugby dud would conclude he is not worthy"

Count me as a rugby dud in that case. Willie le Roux is hopeless. An overrated poser who showed a tiny bit of flair 2 or 3 years ago and has been a useless passenger living off that hype ever since.

So Jantjies "ignites the backline" ....now there's a laugh.

Out of curiosity, when did that happen? Can you point me to a particular test...just one will do.

Tx in anticipation.

Isnt interesting to see how the off field dramas increase within Aussie and SA rugby during this RWC... almost like the poms / kiwis have sent in agents to disrupt the culture within teams they view as threats...

Saffas can you guys please arrange for some more food poisoning...? Especially now the kiwis and poms have conveniently arranged to dodge a game to be fresh for QFs...

To add to the Jantjies (fly half) debate -- I never have overly rated him as he appears to only ever be on when his team is dominating... rarely (if ever) have I seen him turn a game when under pressure (eg beuden barrett / )...

he reminds me a lot of the carlos spencer / quade cooper type of mould... can do amazing things when stars align but potentially a costly liability waiting to happen.. especially if put under pressure from big forwards running at him... my 2cents

I guess we see what we want to see. Nkosi was right there hugging Reinach around the neck after his first try. Couldn't see any tension between Jantjies and Reinach, Jantjies was discussing something with him, who knows what. Maybe Jantjies is just a bit of a tosser, we know he's had trouble at the Lions because of his attitude as menti oned. Can't see anything strange between Willemse and Steyn either.

Here is an enigma - Strzok writing the following:-

"I think Nkosi is just a surly youngster....and Jantjies had some issues with his Lions team mates."

Comey came in and denies the allegation against Nkosi,   That is a new one for our members - the two not backing each other up in BS spreading.

I wonder how much support the darker Goats are giving Etzebeth in his up and coming hearing?

Will they stand by him ... as a fellow Goat ... against their own ... or will they throw him to the Lions?

We shall see.

That's all the Goats need now ... division because of racism.

Wouldn't that be a hoot.

Jantjies isn't liked much is he? Not by the Lions ... and not by the Goats either it seems.

Funny how the useless waterboy Kolisi thought that he needed to have a little "chat" with Jantjies ... when he himself has been rather poor the last two season or so. By a long shot not a test player.

Ignorant hypocrite ...

Plum - I agree until this Ezbeth thing and the way the camera angles the other night all focussed on the "darker goats"... couldnt help but see the orchestration of racial politics involved...

SA coach doing a good job with all this random noise about... suggest the "goats" on the easy run to potentially another GF appearance... especially if Scot v Jap cancelled and Ireland end up v NZ

I've said before ... Willie should not have made the squad. He is one of many poor selections.

Jantjies is another on the long lists of duds at the .

Racism hides itself well ... and only surfaces when certain criteria are met.

Look at how the non white rugby commentators ... annalists ... rugby "specialists" ...came out in support of Willemse against Naas and Mallet.

It didn't matter that Willemse was wrong. He's a coloured man ... and they are white

Paulse had much to say.

We are all racists ... it just takes a little incident to draw it out.

I get the bit that Jantjies is arguably the next best flyhalf, mine would be Curwin Bosch, but oh alright, let it go at that for argument's sake but is anyone game enough to tell me that he'll comfortably and successfully step into Pollard's shoes in the unfortunate event of Pollard copping an injury? And just to clarify the bit about him being the next best, truth be told there aren't many flyhalves around of note, they are like hen's teeth in South Africa so it's not that hard to be the next best but don't be deluded into believing it makes him a good flyhalf.

To his credit he has a good pass and probably passes more than any other flyhalf now and in the past but in the negative he is slow, has no step of note, has no kick of note and his option taking is dreadful. His passing is so predictable causing any potential attack to come to a grinding halt.

His best game was against Canada.......Canada would be a poor bottom of the ladder S15 team.

The best thing about Jantjies is his pin point accuracy with kicks out of hand.

Jantjies was earmarked for Goats duty right from the beginning. It didn't matter how poor a rugby player he is. He's not white and that's all he needed to qualify.

We look to him as the next best thing to Pollard ... however ... can you honestly say that he's developed as a player with all the exposure?

In my opinion, he' the same washout today as he was 5 years ago. He has added nothing to his arsenal.

He's a loser.

I am confident that the likes of Bosch would have taken the same opportunity and developed into something far better than he currently is.

There's the difference.

Denise you should take racist Clown Cuts hand - bridges to be built and all that Jusr don’t talk rugby for your takes on Jantjies is utter garbage Jantjies is our next best 10 after Pollard. He is more creative than Pollard. Saying he is slow or has no step is either blindness or ignorance, take your pick. He has great hands, is very good at putting players into space. Has a good eye for a gap and has a good step. He is also very good at using the cross kick to find his outside backs His weakness is that he has no hard edge and therein lies his deficiency. Has all the talent in the world but has never been a hard nut He plays his best rugby when he knows his coach has his back, it’s why he did so well for the Lions, but failed under Coetzee Bosch is exactly the same - plenty of talent but a softy. Bosch is a complete liability in defence. He needs to muscle up if he wants to be taken seriously Depending where Willemse ends up, he could prove to be Pollards best back up

Jantjies (and the Lions) made 3 back to back SuperRugby finals in a row. To say he is not a good rugby player, is just focussing on his weaknesses.
Sometimes SA teams do not turn territorial dominance into points, but when Jantjies is in form - he gets the backline running well. The Canadian game was a good example where Jantjies was a better option than Pollard.
Jantjies does have bad games, and when he is bad they are terrible.
The worst was the Capetown test vs England in 2017 on a slow and wet pitch, where he was a joke in bad taste. Maybe a season or two in the mud baths of the UK could have been a good option for him ages ago. Willemse is another player that may benefit from these conditions.
