The way ESPN provided stats in the past was a much clearer indication of performance by players - the present stats is in fact meaningless since it does not give the full info on players and their performances.

oimatey
Penalties given away - passing and kicking stats - defenders beaten - line breaks made - line-out takes on own throwing and opposition - try assists - turnovers affected - etc.
The present stats only give number of carries and distances gained - the number of tackles made and missed - as well as tries scored and conversions.
Not enough to make a comprehensive assessment on a statistical basis - which can be matched up with what a player actively achieved.

espn.co.uk has just about all of that for individual games. Click on the game result, go to player stats and it has scoring/attacking/defending/discipline categories
If you are looking for season long data, don't think it has it.

No - not everything - it does not cover issues like line breaks, defenders beaten etc. It also does not cover try assists and number of balls handled - kicked and passed.
I definitely prefer their previous way of providing stats.

Line breaks (clean breaks), defenders beaten, etc is still there. See "Attacking".
Try assists are still there. See "Scoring".
Balls handled is still there - kick, pass, run, metres gained. See "Attacking as well".
Tackles made, missed, turnovers conceded, lineouts won on own throw is under "Defending".
Penalties, red cards and yellow cards are under discipline.
Only thing is that you now required to think a bit. Maybe that is where some stats have gone missing.

Tokkie hasn't figured out he needs to press attacking and defending....wehe! It's not that he is clueless. It's that, in spite of several posters assuring him the data is available....he absolutely insists it isn't. Wrong but never uncertain.

OK. Thanks for the info
I accept the stats are still available - but not in a condensed format like they sued to be - you apparently have to change the site a number of times to get the info that was in one schedule before.

Speaking of stats...... saw PSDT was credited with 2 tackles and 3 missed tackles? surely that's a misprint?
Stormers had 7 lineout steals? who is running that Cheetahs lineout anyway?
