I was surprised he was picked for the RWC given his injury and the fact he hadn't has much experience as an AB. I think he was a long-shot bolter type selection. Good that he wasn't really needed. He had one fanatic run to score a try and that was basically it.

He will be developed this year for sure.

I remember that try well. Waisake Naholo was my Fantasy Rugby captain that day and after he scored that brilliant try so early in the game, I was rubbing my hands in anticipation expecting to score truckloads of points for that game . . . but sadly, that was pretty much Naholo's only meaningful contribution at RWC15.

I agree he'll be one to shortlist for this year's S18 but there are so many other quality outside backs to choose from . . . Nehe Milner-Skudder, Julian Savea, Israel Folau, Ben Smith, Nemani Nadolo, Joe Tomane, Lolagi Visinia etc . . . maybe even Santiago Cordero and Ayumu Goromaru?

Just noticed there's not a single South African outside back on my shortlist above. We are very weak in that position at the moment.
