Redsman my predictions regarding the writing being on the wall and for a coupl eof years tipping Oz as the ones to watch becasue ofthe inclusion of some fine ZPolnesian players could be coming true.

Has the tide changed is a fair question. The weakest Oz sides beating kiwis to sides.

As for the kiwis contingent -  its the silence of the lambs!  Ou brycy will be haluled out of retirement along with paddy and cohorts.

Kiwis what going on? Is this just a temporary drop in form or has the tide actually changed in some fundamental way. We shall see but your valued comments to explain all this would be appreciated. Are the kiwis playing the wrong brand of rugby?  Are they too small or what!

The Kiwis are just giving the ozzies a chance to also partake.

Other wise they'd take their ball and leave.

We know how prone the ozzies are to sulking, making excuses and throwing hissy fits.

How predictable... Yarpy Redsman gets her knickers off again at the drop of a hat but at least she got the weak part right..

Hardly a convincing win though so talk about prone to exaggeration and could have gone either way with the Tahs getting lucky in the end. Trouble with the Kiwis is they're too laid back where as the Aussies are desperate not to let the Kiwis win the competition again for the umpteenth time.

What about those Hurricanes though ? On the up and up after taking a holiday last week. Good shit. Go the Canes.

Chiefs though look like they're still on holiday with the prospect of playing arguably South Africas best next week. Should be a thriller.

Oh Red, you abandon one thread  and start another on the same topic mate and why is that? Oh yes, I remember, that's why aussies wear yellow init mate?

Beano, we are failing on the basics and basic principals of the game my dearest friend! The catch/pass, marking up, getting back onside quickly and a lack of patience.

We are been beaten by sides with i guess you could say less 'pedigree' (don't buy into the pedigree thing myself, i'm more of a form man but serves me for this example) who are doing the basics very well.

3 things I put this down to are: Its a good comp this year many fine players and teams this year, take nothing away from these aussie sides they are doin the business. The other 2 are complacency and lazyness which are leading to said failures, the only cure of which i can think of is continued hidings and coaches making their players accountable.

Will we get better? I dunno, I hope so obviously but i do think letting key allblacks take 'holidays' does not set the right example. It's a f'n privilege to serve your province and country for a career compared to some lads sluging their guts out 50-60 hours a week to put food in front of the kids and if you need a 'break' from that then your not the sort to represent nz.

As you might have noticed I am more of an independent observer than most.   I like the attacking rugby New Zealand yeams play and I must say that I thought the New Zealand teams started the Super 15 series well.

The Chiefs

My favourite team is the Chiefs and I was impressed by their performances early in the competition.  However, I must admit there were sigbs in the game against the Cheetahs (especially in the first 60 minutes of the game) that was not 100% - but the eventiual scoreline did cover it up.   Despite their narrow loss the Chiefs really played very well against the Stormers.   However, since that game it seems as things have gone backwards.  They struggled against the Kings and after their return to New Zealand they struggled badly in both games they played.

I always try to make reasonable assessments of teams - and in this case I think that they do have a problem - especially amongst the forwards.  The foudation laid by the forwards can free up the ball for attacking backline play.    I think Afeaki is a very good prop - but for the rest of their tight five there is nobody that really delivers the goods.    I always thought that retallick would develop into a good lock - but he seems to have deficiencies in both line-outs and driving play.

When he backline got good balls - they really did well enough - but I do also have my doubts about Cruden at flyhalf.   This morning confrm clearly that his defence is questionble and he did very rarely play an attacking game.

In essence I think they should try and move the ball wider out than they did in recent games and try and open up matches better.   In the past two games in particular - there were far too many balls going to the outsie backs in attacking moves - the ball to ofetn did not go to 13 and wider.   Maybe that would enhance the attacking potency of the team.

The Blues

The team thus far has played virtually all their games at home.  They were very impressive - but the loss against the Bulls was unexpected and their could be problems for them if they have to travel and play the stronger teams of other franchises.

They deserve to be on top of the New Zealand conference log - and I would like to see how they do later in the competition away from home.

The Hurricanes

I frankly do not know how to rate them as a team.   They have flashes of brilliance altenating with rank poor play.   I looked at players like Savea and Conrad Smith and keep on thinking that they would perform brilliantly - but keep on finding defiiencies in their backline play.  Lets seehow things develop and make a real assessment later.

The Crusaders

The performance of thi team can be rated something lbetween very averageand and  poor.     I know they are missing key players like McCaw, Carter nd Reid - but I wonder whether their inclusion would make much of a difference.

They seem lethargic and even their best win this year against the Stormers were no differnet.   I think the Stormers did more to lose the game than the Crusaders did to win out.  They will have to change th elthargy and start playing rugby.

The Highlanders

I think the team is pathetic - but may have to swallow my comments if they beat the Crusaders tomorrow.  Personally I think that they contracted players well past their prime and now expect miracles to happen.

I have an uneasy feeling about the game tomorrow - they may just beat the Crusaders.

redsman dosent get many opporutnities to gloat against the RWC & RLWC champions, thats why he needs to squeeze every last ounce he can while he can.
make no mistake though, he will revert to his usual its the refs fault once the balance has been restroed, good to see him acknowledge that his cofnerece is the weakest though, but thats obvious as a mofo.

chiefs were useless though, how embarassing to lose to the likes of the waratahs, damn i was so peed of at the chiefs, losing to the useless waratahs.
but they need to learn from their mistakes like, no more of this B team BS, play their top team every week, if their 2nd string team is not capable of beating the waratahs, then they have no business playing them at all.

dont play kahui at 12, he was hopeless, put him back at 13 where he has more space to do what he does best.

leave ngatai on the bench or off the team all together, bundee aki is the chiefs best 12.

always play anscombe at 15, hes the incumbent chiefs 15 bar none.

tell messam to pull his finger out his a55 & actually do something, most overrated player in 2013. steven luatua is a million times better then him & sheilds and whitelock are having a better season then him too.

tell barlow to hurry up & get back, the chiefs especially cruden need him back.

are the chiefs nothing without SBW??? i say no, but the evidence is telling me otherwise.

To just talk rugby and nothing else... I think what this years s15 comp is showing that Aussie teams are on the rise and that Australia is finally taking this code seriously. The moment deans is shown the door Aussie rugby can only go to the next level. With 3 of the aust conference dominating kiwi teams this only bodes well for the wallabies. Hanson is severely overrated coach and anyone can see the guy has an ego as big as the front rower from the cheifs.... Pride before a fall ABs and your fall is coming......
