Sorry guys
I think what happened was that I touched the keyboard away from any buttons and it just keep on repeating the message. I always had a high static electricity situation in me and that could have affected it. I for instance can only wear certain types of wathces with a leather band with a strip underneath-therwise the watch may at any time stop running.
Anyway it took me a bloody hour to repar the damage and I will guard against it in future.
