What a sorrowful way to attack a high pressing defensive line. So limited.

The only positive thing in this SA side: they have non white people in so they can be loaded up with the blame for that loss.
That is all they have, an easy way to deflect the blame.
Apart from this, there is nothing. Scrummaging: no difference made. Defense positioning: abyssal. Shock on the advantage line: null or negative. Attacking pattern: stereotyped. Mentality: resigned. Handling play: reduced to a minimum. Kicking reliabilty: unprofessional level. Play intelligence: below human measuring.

What a disgrace - horrible display by a poorly coached Bulls team - Marais is a fool and the worst players were not necessarily the players of Colour - but they were also not above blame as well.
I think the first thing for a Bulls recovery would be to fire that coach and get some real coaching in. They should start with some real hard basics. Passing of the balls properly - don't make aimless kicks aka Morne Steyn - and do at least some ball protection and recovery. This is totally absent at present.
Not a single player from the Bulls team should be in the Springbok team or near it.

Trad, you a bigot by any chance? You don’t like white people much, or is it full blown hate? Comon, spit it out in plain English please.

Even when Morne Steyn hasn't played for the Bulls in almost four years, he still gets crapped on but hey, ignore me. It is only my imagination that there are those, or someone, who have a deep rooted and passionate hate for the guy.

Can the idiot read what I wrote? It is obvious the sh!t game involving Morne Steyn is still the alpha and omega of Bulls rugby. Absolute rugby modelled on the game advocated by the other idiot on site.

No big surprise...the Bulls in Pretoria and Stormers hardly made it and last year at Newlands they drew...I doubt if any of NZ sides would have struggled in fact the Canes run an almost cricket score on them on the first match...things cannot get any worse.
The up side is that it can only get better...it's not the end of the world.
08 Apr 2017, 11:14#57
Ou Tokkie, maybe you should start reading your own crap more often. Your first Bala up was thinking that "aka" has the same meaning as "ala". And no, don't try and con me into believing that it was a typo, since I have often seen you using it in that way.

Haak haak. Die Bulle is kak. Opines ou cerudunce windpomp. This isa very noteworthy post as it is both correct and briefly put. Both things found very rarely in a cerudunce windpomp post!
It is a big pity the Bulle didnt build on last week's performance. Clearly the side lacks a coaching staff to get them on the right track. I actually always support the Bulle against their foreign opposition and how the old Bulle fans would be turning in the graves at how low the wee bulle have sunk.
Meanou has my condolences but only if he admits - Haak haak. Die Bulle is kak.

That, Beeno, is what happens when one is a realist as opposed to being a delusional dreamer. I have been saying that they have been going downhill for ages. Just as I was saying about SA rugby as a whole. The only thing I got wrong was when I said in 2012, that it would take the Bulls around three years to get back to the top again. Now I am starting to wonder if it would happen in my lifetime. I think the Boks are even worse and that has very little to do with quotas or govt intervention.

So Lyingstein blames Morne twice for the loss.....the spectre of dementia has to be a possibility, Morne wasn't playing.
08 Apr 2017, 23:27#61
...how sorely was Pollard missed if you compare the Bulls performance from last week... ..hopefully the dozy Bulls can reflect on the Sunwolves game and see that they did actually score a TRY after finally passing it to their wingman...don't remember seeing Ulengo being passed the ball at all...it's like him and Ismael have got leprosy...reminds me of days playing league when this mofo inside me was such a selfish bit@h /glory hunter he would never pass the ball at all...pull hair...speaking of dopey centres, Serfontein scored my team minus two after getting binned so not particularly happy about that aneither lol..

This is like my Navara beating Denny's Golf 7 in a quarter mile
Never watched the game because the Bulls hurt my eyes enough the previous two weeks.
No matter what anybody says, the only truly poor players in this team are both 9s and Strauss.
They just strike me as an arrogant bunch with zero team spirit.
Watching both the Stormers and the Lion's one is struck by the clear difference in body language and morale between them and the Bulls.
The Bulls are pretty much a copy of the Boks. So do we start looking for common denominators?
Whatever, Marais is a bloody terrible coach and he's had enough time with them to be held accountable for the total lack of cohesive performances.
But my guess is that he'll be granted an extension on his contract while Akkers, White and Rassie all earn big money abroad.
We tend to blame the government and SARU but honestly our club bosses are just as much to blame. Why are we never talking about them?

Exactly plum
Marais is a useless coach and the Bulls are playing rugby style that wen out years ago - the style of rugby where the backline is neutralized by a negative game plan. When that plan finds its embodiment in the halfbacks and the present replica is the same as was the case when Morne Steyn was the Bulls flyhalf.
We have a case here that the problem is three-fold, namely -
* total breakdown in coaching the team; and* a useless replica of the game plan Meyer used in the Japan test in 2015 with the players cannot perform; and* a total absence of team spirit.
Fact is that Marais lost the dressing room.

Luke
Morne was a key part as pivot of the Bulls in a sh!t game plan that neutralizes backline play and is still in use by the Bulls at present. The reference was to the Bulls game plan so admired by some on this site - ie the kick and chase game - as was developed over the past decade and in which Morne played a key role.

To have guys like Ulengo and Ismael but never get them the ball is pure stupid.
It is true what you say Mike. If they Bulls have also tried to run the ball more than usual, they just suck at it so badly that watching them makes me cringe.
Again, give this Bulls team as is to a good kiwi coach and within weeks there'd been an enormous difference.

It's not only the coach, it's the whole mindset of the Bools brain trust. Matfield's commentary during the match was telling.

You are 100% correct. Think what even some SA coaches such as Ackerman, Venter or Smith would have done with that team.
I may be wrong - but I do not think the Bulls players are in fact matchfit.
