The weee chiefies as you will reacll came down to earth with a bump inlosing tto the Stormers second team. Theythen got hukiated by the fesity Reds. Now all this has sent my good friends brycy and sitting bull down into a depressive slump. So here is hoping the wee chifies up their ga,me a bit. AAlso remember brycy and sitting biull its not ove till the very Mighty Stormers second team lift the trophy!

This article apears on the home page and was written by none other than the Sa Rugby .com editor who pens many a fine piece in a vain attempt to keep some oaks informed.

Chiefs coach Dave Rennie has made six personnel changes and two positional ones for Friday's Super Rugby hit-out against the Waratahs in Sydney.(Warts will be desparate for a win chiefies so please leave the bar before midnight for once!) Most are in the backline following last weekend's 31-23 loss at the hands of the Reds, with Aaron Cruden and winger Asaeli Tikoirotuma the only players remaining in their same positions in the starting line-up. Former All Blacks scrum-half Brendon Leonard will wear the number nine jersey for the first time this season and takes over from Augustine Pulu, who drops to the bench. Andrew Horrell replaces Gareth Anscombe (guy kicks like a metronome) at full-back, Lelia Masaga comes in for Tim Nanai-Williams on the right wing and Charlie Ngatai starts in the midfield, with Richard Kahui moving to inside centre. In the pack, Fritz Lee comes back in at number eight in a rejigged back three, while Pauliasi Manu is selected at loosehead prop in place of  Toby Smith. Chiefs: 15 Andrew Horrell, 14 Lelia Masaga, 13 Charlie Ngatai, 12 Richard Kahui, 11 Asaeli Tikoirotuma, 10 Aaron Cruden, 9 Brendon Leonard, 8 Fritz Lee, 7 Sam Cane, 6 Liam Messam (c), 5 Brodie Retallick, 4 Michael Fitzgerald, 3 Ben Tameifuna, 2 Hika Elliot, 1 Pauliasi Manu.
Replacements: 16 Rhys Marshall, 17 Michael Kainga, 18 Nick Crosswell, 19 Tanerau Latimer, 20 August Pulu, 21 Gareth Anscombe, 22 Tim Nanai-Williams.

The Chiefs have better resources than any other team in Super 15 to fall back on.  I do ot believe they really rate the Waratahs as a strong opponent at all - that is probably the main reason to rest some players at this stage.

The Stormers better beware - they are bound to lose against the Hurricanes next wek - so bragging about their prospect is weird.

Dear ou maaaikie allow me to put you in the picture. Firstly how would the Chiefies have been doing with 13 of their squad injured?

Secondly you have been predicting every week we would lose so I suspect this is another knee jerk reaction.

Yes given our current player state its a possibilty but don't bet your house on it. Also remember the Stormers usually play well overseas. Sorry make that the Mighty Stormers dispatchers of the wee guppies, chiefs and brumbies with their second team.

Mike you shakies look to have lost JP for  the tour. If Alberts and Bissie can get going your forwards will have to do it.

I was just joking with you about the Stormers - they seem to be getting back some of the key injured players.

However, have you seen the threads started by Sharkbok and myself as to the backline situation of the Sharks?   All their top outside back players have been injured and Bosman was pathetic against the Stormers.   Reading between the lines Steyn is not making progress in getting physically acceptable and is still unfit.  He seems to be unconcerned about the situation - and Meyer could have inhand in that.  If Meyer keeps on calling on him to play for the Springbok - and call him up for training camps - he would be unoconcerned and not co-operating to get him back into form.  Since Whitehead is out injured as well - the Sharks have the situation that only Reinach, Lambie and Jordaan is actually available to fill the gaps - with Viljone at full back.   That leaves at least  3 critical vacancies.

Be it as it may I think at this stage the Sharks have more injury problems than any othr team in Super 15 and I hope Plumtree finds a way out of the mess.
