If you get hit in the chest, your head moves forward in relation to your body. If you get hit in the head, as is fucking clear in the video, your head jerks backwards. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand that.

So stop trying to spin it as though the high and dangerous shot from your King wasnt the catalyst for A) Louw not being abel to finish the game and B) him being ruled out for months and requirinf neck surgery.

 If Richie had hit Louw in the chest and head at the same time, then Louw's entire body, inclusive of his head would have moved backwards. It would have played out the same way every other legal tackle/hit does.

But as can be seen in the video, Richie drops his left shoulder and raises his right arm. He leads with his left shoulder and at no point during the hit raises his left arm. A SHOULDER CHARGE. His left shoulder makes direct contact with Louw's face and Louw head is jerked backwards.

I have alot of respect for the All Blacks, I like New Zealanders in general. So I'm not saying this as someone with a vendetta against the team: There have been numerous instances of foul play by some of their players. Not all of them are guilty of this, some are squeaky clean. There have been others who have committed some horrible acts. The spear tackle on Smit, which ruled him out of the RC, seconds after a swinging arm into the neck of Jantjes was one which really shocked me. They got the penalty as well. 

And do be sure, we have had our moments of idiocy too. The Greyling punch was as stupid as can be. He, along with Goosen, blew that test.

I don't condone foul play from anyone. I'm actually harder in my critique of the Boks. There have been a couple of players I'd have blocked from ever representing the Boks again if I had the power to do so.

So take that as a you may. I thought a little bit of objective thought could end this rather tiresome feud.

Sam Cane is up and about, here's the latest news (Plane Rugby):

New Zealand openside flanker Sam Cane is “up and about” following a successful operation on his neck, which took place in South Africa.

The 26-year-old suffered a fractured bone in his neck during the All Blacks’ 32-30 Rugby Championship win over the Boks in Pretoria.

He’s since gone under the knife and it was positive news to see an image released by the All Blacks of Cane walking after the surgery.

“Sam would like to thank everyone for all the support he has received from around the world, he is set to make a full recovery,” read a Twitter post from the national side, with team doctor Tony Page adding that the operation had been a success and Cane would soon fly home.

The Chiefs and New Zealand back-row forward is likely to spend six weeks in a neck brace before he begins the next stage of his recovery.

Cane later Tweeted: “A few things to be thankful for. Firstly, the circumference and strength of my neck, I may not be standing without it. Secondly, the world class medical and surgical team I have had in Pretoria, couldn’t have asked for anything more. Thirdly, for all the support I’ve received from family, friends, NZRU, SARU and all the messages from around the world. Really appreciate the messages, it means a lot.
