What is the best way to get RWC tickets?

 You should have registered months ago on the websites. It was a first come, first served basis, like a lottery. 
I believe the big game tickets are all gone and no re- sales are permitted. That anyone buying tickets from a named purchaser will find the ticket is void. 
Package trips still have tickets available, I believe. 
And take a look on the RWC website for info on any ticket availability. 

 I registered ages ago but the email account I used was hacked so I can no longer get into it. I will look into package tours. Cheers

Try and re-register. There were still some tickets for some matches, I do know that. But they put the unsold ones back on sake a coup,e if weeks ago and I have heard nothing since then.Worth a look on the site to see where things stand, I would think.  

I re-registered already & yes the tickets that are left are for games that are not that great. There are some interesting games marked "not currently available" so there is some hope.

My Aunt has NZ/Argentina and some other minor countries but none of the England games she wanted ! 

 Yes, I saw the AB vs Argie game but I think it was in millennium stadium so I didn't pick it. It would be great to see a game at twickers but I would have to be extremely lucky to see a RWC game there. Failing this I will go to see a non RWC game there & book well in advance next time. A group of friends want to get together to see a rugby game but as they don't know much about rugby it would be a bit of a waste for them to see a top level RWC game. Might make more sense for us to go to a game in Europe (I live in Warsaw, they live in Brussels & France). Fingers crossed if I get a chance for twickers I will take that as a sign & go

 The NZ match is at Wembley. 
If you get a chance for Twickers , it will be a flaming miracle

 JW, I'm going to the RWC with some friends and have bought tickets for 2 minor AB games against Georgia and Namibia. Couldn't get the Argie game but I have another friend here in NZ who has been to the last 4 RWCs and he says he never pre-buys tickets and just turns up at the ground. He says he has only ever missed being able to buy at the last minute on a couple of occasions as there's always people trying to get rid of them just prior to kick-off.We've rented a house in London for a month and I can't wait. Should be a blast!I've been lucky enough to score tickets for the QF in Cardiff which should feature the ABs vs either Ireland or France(provided we get past the Argies). With the way the Paddies are playing, guess who we might end up against?? Deja vue 2007????

Lucky devils...luv to be there, even for any game...the atmosphere is something else...experienced at home in 1995 and in France 2007...wanted to go before especially 2011 but it's very expensive with the buying power of the rand...the NZ dollar buys 8.96 rands...Pommy's and europeans and yanks it's still expensive but one does not have to mortgage ones property to go there

 Thinking back to the 2007 RWC - obbtaining tickets for major games was an outright disaster.  You could not get tickets for major matches other than to buy them on e-bay.   
I think the English would be worse.   They distribute tickets to their clubs and the general public is given very few opportunities to buy tickets directly from the organisers - bar for games involving the minions.
Buying tickets on E-Bay is also disastrously expensive.   I can remember buying three tickets for the England - SA game in Paris for 650 pounds - at that stage R10 000.
Any games involving the top countries - except when they play the minions - will be monstrously expensive.
    
  

Went to first game against Samoa at Parc des Princes...missed England at Stade d e France...too expensive and saw Tonga @Lens, watched Ireland play Georgia...went to Bordeaux...beautiful place, my wife loved it...exquisite buildings, cafes and restaurants...long streets with shops...by this time I was nearly bankrupt...

Wanted to go to Marseille (sight seeing reason) to watch QF against Fiji...or back to Paris St Denis to watch semi's against the Puma's but prices were absorbitant...sorry exhorbitant...that's a Mrs Malapropism isn't it?

We decided to stay in Bordeaux and watch the main games  at Bed and Breakfast and hotel. Very expensive...France sends women into buying sprees and the magnificent wine in Bordeaux...hell if I could only crack a lotto or some rich relative leave a windfall...

England now is out of the question, it's not only the tickets for us poor unfortunate Saffa's.

I love travel and so does my wife, fortunately did a lot when younger but today sadly, unless you are a billionaire, it's out of the question...the other thing you cannot work for ever

 Mike, there was a system like the Olympics.
You registered and put down which matches and how many tickets/price range etc.Then it was done by lottery and the lucky recipients got their tickets. 
The rest have gone to sponsors, Clubs and package tours etc....as they do in all countries. 

Given the price of tickets & accommodation & the fact that the people I would go with don't know much about rugby I think I will skip RWC live, invite them to Warsaw to watch games at my house & get tickets to a decent live game in France . Seems like a waste to take them to a RWC game when they don't know a thing about the game.
