There has been negative comments on the performances of most of the New Zealand flyhalfs during this series. When I tried to find a flyhalf I can start with this week ahead of Pollard - I looked at the prices of all potential flyhalfs in the New Zealand line-ups and found that the prices of New Zealand flyhalfs decreased by circa $130 000. Only Carter and Soopoaga stayed static - the rest tumbled down. I can understand about Carter - he was not in demand initially and is not in demand now - so there was very little trading done that impacted on his price.
Insofar as the SA Flyhals are concerned - there was a price rise of circa $308 000 since Round 1. The biggest price increase of $182 000 were recorded in respect of Pollard .
These prices relates to the actual performances of the players in games played and does not reflect favourably on the actual performances of the NZ flyhals.
So at present the SA flyhalfs and 1 Australian flyhalf (Foley) - shows the way insofar as flyhalf performances are concerned. Should be a worrying factor for the NZ supporters?
