I think the Reds have a serious problem and it is not going to get solved easily. They were thoroughly beaten this morning and that cannot be disputed.
They brought in a drove of new players - some code-hoppers - and the result was disastrous. What is bothersome is if my memory is correct they beat the Crusaders in a pre-season match with that self-same inexperienced players and that perhaps gives us an indication of what to expect from those two teams this year.
Be it as it may - the Reds need some real forwards and the backline can only improve by bringing in James O'Connor. It is not wise to judge a team on its first performance - but what I saw this morning was a disgrace.
