Take the fixture away from them I say. Give it to Japan where supporters will actually go to the game.
Pathetic showing by NZ
I thought rugby was their passion?

...must have become too predictable for the Wellingtonians with NZ winning year after year after year.....where's the fun in that?...should be moving to Auckland next year tho...they made it an alcohol free event this year which didn't help...

The 7s have had their time in Welly and time it was moved on to pastures new. 3-4 years back the tickets were sold out in 10 minutes for both days but since drinking restrictions were implemented along with breath screening at the gate, a lot of people have given it a miss. The League 9s which follow next weekend in Auckland will no doubt have had an effect on sales also.I think they only pre-sold 8000 tickets this year which was pathetic all right.I believe Dunedin is hot favourite to take it but that's only a rumour.

...my bad, thought the event was alcohol free but moolaa is right...looking forward to the Nines next week as well moolaa...Sean Johnson and RTS will be great crowd pullers...

...makes me wonder if rugby league is taking over from rugby now we are ranked #1 at league and given Super rugby is turning into a complete goat fk thanks to our friends that demanded expansion?...talk about killing the goose that laid the golden egg...

 15000 on Saturday .............14000 Sunday .

Anyone looking peesed on arrival was breathtested & all failures were refused entry .

Apparently the drunken debauchery aint the image that the Sevens wish to portray,  especially with the Rio Olympics in mind .

Over 70000 tickets sold for next week's Sydney tournament .

Its simple, take the fixture away from NZ if the locals can't be bothered to support the event

Am sure there is a list of countries who would be more appreciative of hosting the event

It was a pathetic turnout
