I re-iterate I have better things to do than to watch garbage of Coetzee dished up as rugby.   I suspected what would happen did happen - a repeat of the Stormer situation where the backline is there to defend only.   That is a deadly game costing more osses than wins against stronger opposition.  
Sure Morne Steyn knows the aimless donkey-kicking of balls - that is about his total addition to any game.   I have asked the question time and again - if Morne Steyn is such a wonderful flyhalf -- why is ahe routinely the bench flyhalf off Stade Francais?   Does his club coach knows something the dolts on this site don't know?   Dropping Jantjies was correct - playing Morne Steyn was a deadly recipe for future losses.        

Mike I don't think there is one poster that thinks Morne is the right player for the Boks in the long term.....he was, however exactly the right player last Saturday. As was Louw, as was Strauss.

 Morne produced. Excellent stand in till the real 10 steps to the plate. Flo was really good and Strauss played his best match ever. Too soon to say the Boks turned a corner and NZ will be a few steps too far on Saturday, but atleast it wasn't another step back by the Bokke.

I'm not sure why we even bother engaging Mike on this forum. Probably one of the least knowledgeable posters around, with most of his contributions consisting of hammering on his blind spots (Morne, Fransie, Alberts, De Jongh, etc.) and making stuff up (STILL waiting for him to show me in which of De Jongh's tackles against the All Blacks the tackled players managed to offload, like he claimed). He couldn't even correctly interpret any of the last few screenshot play ana-lyses I posted. Utterly clueless.

 Well in fairness to Tokkie....CC is just as clueless. They are the same poster with little variations. Tokkie never saw a player under 23 who wasn't a candidate for his avatar.....Carbuncle never saw a Lions player who wasn't better than the incumbent Bok.
The thing that is so stunning about all this, jarring really, is that they have been willing to trash great players like Habana, Jean, Schalk and Matfield among  others.....Bok all time greats.....to promote completely unproven provincial favourites, who bomb 95% of the time when they are given their test opportunity.

And the cycle just keeps repeating itself......they just don't get the simple truth that very few provincial successes become test successes. And that functional test players are a rare breed that need to be given the benefit of the doubt.

 CC knows less about rugby than Rooinek and we all know how little Rooinek knows about the game. Don't be too hard on poor Mike, as it is he's hard on himself with I didn't watch the game but the fact is Morne Steyn missed 3 tackles in the game.... Dadadadada

CC is just a bitter chap. Denigrating somebody else appears to be his highest calling....he must be a real pain to have around.  

 So we all agree then (some albeit begrudgingly ), Morne played exceptionally well.

I'm not a Morne fan!!!However he did a good enough job and as it has been mentioned exactly what the cr*p coach wanted. The Boks did win although not a pretty game and OZ are quire terrible at the moment.Our friend Morne did make some mistakes (only human) but overall he won us the game, and as most have mentioned we see him as a band-aid solution. I personally would have preferred to see Goose and lambie share the load, only because they are the only somewhat fit at the moment.
Strauss had his best game in 2 years and Louw his best that I can remember. I would like to see Paige again, as my initial thought is he's not at the level required.Jesse Kriel's only hope is at 15 and no where else, and I'm not even sure of that. I think fris chris needs to just keep going to the gym, hell he's weak.

The earliest thread about Morne Steyn was on 4 march 2013 by..... wait for it........... You guessed it. CleverMike. There are 70 threads in total. However, one is about Morne Mellet, brings the number of threads about Morne Steyn 69.
I then counted the number of threads started per poster. These were the results:

Don't forget ... you also have another favourite in De Jongh running the back line. I can't wait to see how well he sets our defensive lines this weekend. 

 Nope no prediction this weekend. i only predict when I have conviction and usually when it's positive conviction. You should try that approach.

I am glad you did not mention the dead attacking abilities of Morne and De Jongh as well.    Mozart does not consider try scoring as important in rugby - so the fool misses the point continuously.
