Pakie

So you blame De Allende for that try and Mozart blames Du Toit - so what have we got here.   Another case of mania - Esterhuizen is constantly beaten by players both sides of him - yet one case is enough to seal the fate of De Allende.

By the way I was wrong about the stats.  I used provisional stats of ESPN from what I wrote earlier - so I apologize,

AO

So stats means nothing - dreamed-up BS reigns supreme.  What a farce,

No, I said he missed a tackle in the leadup to the try, a simple statement of fact.

Lets get back to rugby.   We are indeed lucky to have the three top performance analysts in the world on this site.   The problem is they have their own way of identifying player deficiencies and since that is entirely based on prejudice the results are clearly problematic.

The other thing is that if somebody differs from them a flood of  totally unproved theory follows.   We must then believe what they write because of their self-claimed superior knowledge of the game.

In essence they have two norms which must always be sued in deciding of player performances - namely prejudice and arrogance.  If one does not believe the tripe they mostly produce on site - they become the comedians they also pretend to be.

In their case a classic remark by Mr Bennett in Pride and Prejudice when bidding farewell to Elizabeth is strictly applicable. "Please have pity on me in the absence of Jane and you there will not be two words of sense in succession spoken."

In the case of our world analysts - the same will apply, with a slight difference - they will also dream up some very real BS to justify their idiocy.

And so did Pollard - but the distortion was ion what happened in the case of the missed tackle you harp on.   Ss per normal no perspective and zero reliability.  keep it up.  You get funnier with every posting you make.

Mike, try to follow the ball.

We were talking about tackling. I pointed out De Allende's weakness for a certain type of tackle, and named two recent incidents as examples of what I meant.

We weren't discussing the first All Black try. We were discussing De Allende's tackling.

You forced blame for the try into the discussion. Not me.

So De Allende made 37 tackles and missed 5 for a missed tackle ratio of  11.9/   You deduce from one missed tackle a scenario that he has a weakness in one type of tackle.  Maybe- maybe not - but that type of thing cannot eb done purely by generalization.   It could be done if it happens continuously and of that you have zero proof.

I know that there was on test where De Allende had a poor tackling record, but that was three years ago and since that test your refrain has never changed.  One read your story and it is indeed a repetative jargon ever since that test .

You obviously became aware of Esterhuizen only recently.   I have followed his career ever since he played in the Under 20WC in 2013, In the final he did not even attempt a tackle on the opposing English center who ran part him like he was nowhere to be seen to score what turned out to be the winning try of the series by the English team.

I then followed him in the subsequent Super Rugby series in 2014 to date.   In 2014 White tried him out as a blindside flank because eh was not pacey enough to play at center.   When Fat Fransie got a five week ban in 2015 Estehuizen became the inside center of th Shark by default.   His defense was poor and he got run around by a variety of players.

The situation did not really change in subsequent years,  He was a strong crashballer and a deficient defender in all games played,  His tackle stats was bad - but he had a problem that is never reflected in stats.   That is that tackle stats do reflect only cases where tackles are in fact attempted - it does not affect the cases where no attempt is made.

I am not going to analyze past games to see where Estehuyzen failed in even attempting tackles.   However, it has always been his problem.   I would have gone to extra  effort if he was a possible in the tests this year - but the chances of tha t is remote.

You do not want to accept that Esterhuizen has problems a center because it would sabotage you De Allende hate campaign.

No. You clearly don't read what I say, or otherwise you deliberately ignore it to turn what should be a discussion into a sniping match full of strawmen. Have fun with that.

Damian had a poor England series and has been a flatliner in the RC. Pick a better platform to make outlandish claims. This one is dead and buried.

The obvious difference between Allende and Esterhozen is Allende Is in his 5th season as a Bok, and I still cant think of one test where was a big contributor. One needs only to look at his try scoring record 32 tests for 3 tries......against Ireland at Ellis Park, Italy and the USA!!!! That surely is the most toothless record for any Bok centre who has played so many tests. On that basis the team would average one and a half tries a game.....and surely your inside centre should average higher than average! Toothless Tractor! And he is a poor defender.....he just doesn't tackle well, and reads the play poorly. Many of his tackles are dual efforts, needing help to stop the momentum. And now Tokkie wants to replace him with Ruhan Nel vs Oz....couldn't be sillier.

First AB try.....Brown beats Allende to give the move forward momentum. Then Steph who wasn't dinged in the mozcroscope for a missed tackle, simply didn't have the acceleration to get across after Pollard shot out of line. Allende to blame, Stephanie not to blame, but slow reactions from the big man. In the move before that, after Stephanie as the top tackler fails to prevent the offload....Allende gets stepped on the inside by Ben Smith, with the outside blocked.....totally dumb. I don't have time to go on doing this, but all you have to do is watch the first 5 minutes to see what a horrible defender Duh is.

So will you admit Allende's missed tackle created the ABs first try? Will you admit Tuinu's big bust came after Stephanie over commits and leaves a gap? But we have to give credit to Stephanie's horribly botched tackle on LB, which set up the Kolbe try......hahahaha!

Listen - I will admit nothing of the kind since the BS spreader is never giving a reliable description of what happened.

Now go and see the squad where your BS did not help at all.

Listen dimness - two separate message with no link to each other - do you persist with fraudulent manipulation.   What can one expect from Mozart -  the most dishonest person there could be on a site like this one.

When's the last time Damian beat a strong defence and set a runner free with a purposeful offload? When was the last time Damian made a strong head-on tackle without a tackle assist adding stopping power? She was the last time you saw Damian carry the ball up and plough into defenders, knocking them out of his way? I can only think of the USA for an assist and offload. No strong tackles that didn't involve hugging feet.

Esterhuizen is new on the scene and I can already cite many examples of his superior play.
