amazing how many kiwis do live here and have nothing but venom for the country that supports them... incidentally the aussie govt now deporting the kiwi criminals which is apparently "corrosive"... I think it is that particularly the newly arrived ones want to prove to us that they are the big man... 

Razor if you are new to Byron - dont be like a heap of other kiwis and try and be the big man - just relax and embrace the genuine easy going nature of aussie culture... btw byron is a geographical beautiful place but has so many wannabes and heaps of transient freeloaders... please also dont be one of these...   

Generally kiwis who have been here for 20+ years learn to chill and lose the kiwiness... 

Many of my good friends, neighbours and some clients are kiwis so can speak with absolute authority... 

Plenty of saffas too - i like them generally - they are straight shooters and smart.. and dont bitch and moan like kiwi ex pats... generally when they do moan at least its based on fact... not just kiwiness...

I have a place near byron and penty of friends in that town... i dont actually really like it much these days... too many hipsters and traffic bit rank.

Razor, you live in a nice part of the world.....are you near the beach? I hope to visit Byron Bay one day, furthest north I've been is Cairns and the Daintree Forest. If you don't mind me asking, where in Cape Town and Sydney did you live? I ask because I grew up in Cape Town and I now live in Sydney, the two best cities in the world, thank you kindly LOL

I'd probably add San Francisco to that list (in terms of geographical beautiful cities...) they are all up there... 

Byrons OK... but there are less tainted spots nearby with more appeal in the area - I managed a bank in Johnson St Byron for about 5yrs more than a few years back... full spectrum of clientele there... for a small town it does have global recognition though...

Still play the odd comp at the Byron Golf Course... which is pretty nice course...
