In 466 minutes Player B made 41 tackles at an 84% success rate...and turned the ball over to opponents 7 times.
Player A in 617 minutes made 23 tackles at a 79% success rate and turned the ball over 19  times
Player B carried the ball 26 times at 3.57 metres per carry, with a clean break every 6 carries....and an offload every 5 carries.

Player A carried the ball 45 times at 3.1 metres a carry and made a clean break every 45 carries...i.e. has  made one clean break all season, I'm giving you a hint here. He made an offload every 5.6 carries

Stats are bland and what's more don't give the flair and colour to the talent.

 Well, with the facts presented, player B...obviously, but that's stupid without context.

LOL Plum...cannot see the wood from the trees...the trouble with stats they miss the style, the flair and the nous of a player...it's rather like comparing a Rembrandt or Van Gogh to a Tretchikov painting...basics in extreme do not tell the story. It's rather like comparing talent like Patrick Lambie and Silky Hands to Morne Steyn.

Dawie De Villiers...Lol

 I always preferred Dirkie de Vos. But no, scrumhalf A is Faf de Klerk. One clean break all season. Makes a mockery of the stereotype of him as a great running 9.
The funny thing is he was dynamic a year or so ago, but has become progressively more inhibited. His defence isn't the best either. But based on those early impressions he is a consensus pick. I was a fan too, but ever since the Canes game I have become a little sceptical.

Faf has hardly attacked this year as he did last year. Clearly he is under instruction to provide quick ball and let Jantjies unleash his magic 

 The best break made by De Klerk was in a game where he just pushed Matfield out of the way and just run past him - a real classic.  

 He beat a lock, that was his best break? Funny, no wonder he has only made 1 break this year.

This isn't perhaps the same Groom that takes the flyhalf out of play, is it?
You know .... the one that feeds crashballer Burger so that he can go to ground with ball in hand.

It's a good attempt ... and I mean let's face it, your call on Pienaar was a doozy ... an escape plan was definitely needed.
  
 

 I'm not suggesting Groom, simply using Groom to demonstrate how inferior Faf's stats are. I fell into this trap for a while as well....that Faf is this great threat on the run. One clean break all season doesn't support that view and his tackling stats aren't good.
Pienaar is still the right choice to start, which is unfortunate...he hasn't been a convincing Bok. But our  scrummies playing in Super rugby are unprepared to start in test rugby.

 Granted, Mozart ... they lack test experience ... and who's fault is that?
Faf is by no means a Joost vd Westhuisen. Sadly we have none of that calibre. 
Either way ... I'd rather have an inexperienced skilled scrummie than that awful Pienaar.
He's dead, dull and boring. As predictable as they come. No backline would ever get going with this dimwitted chump r unning the show.
