The following from News24:-
"Former South African World Cup winner Francois Steyn joined French Top 14 side Montpellier on Thursday as medical cover for the injured Ilian Perraux, the club announced.

The 28-year-old, who was playing in the Japanese championship having featured for Racing 92 in France in a previous spell after formative years with the Sharks, can play at flyhalf, fullback or in the centre.

Perraux has been ruled out until the end of the season.

Steyn will be joined by fellow Springboks star, back-rower Pierre Spies who has been summoned as cover for Antoine Battut who has undergone surgery on his hand.:

Montpellier is not really making progress after White took over and the fact that Fat Fransie (rejected by the Sharks)  and Jane Spies (rejected by the Bulls) are his latest acquisitions will leave serious question marks about his player identification.

Fact is Fransie is a player who can play in three positions, but -

*  a previous coach said he is no center - proven by the fact that he destroys the capacity in every backline he played in;

*  he is through inaccuracy the biggest ball possession loser in any one season of anybody ever who played in Super Rugby and hold that record in 2014 when he frequently played at flyhalf; and

*   he is way too slow and too often out of position to be an effective full back.

The Sharks is mightily relieved to be rid of this headache and I am sure they are happy for White - whom they thoroughly disliked - to have him.  However, watch the next episode when Bismarck deal with that one in the manner he normally does.    The players will soon enough learn that Steyn is a blue-eyed boy who carries tales to White and that will result in ano ther player revolt like happened in the case of the Sharks.

Not speculating - half of the Sharks players refused to renew their contracts with the Sharks if white stays on as coach.  Fransie was White's favourite and blue-eyed boy and other players got buggered up and blamed for Fransies far too numerous mistakes.
Why do you think White was asked to resign or be fired and why was the Sharks management mightily relieved when Fat Fransie's contract expired?  They never even suggested a renewal.
The other problem was Meyer's playing style with Fransie his chief cog to ensure that the backline malfunctioned.

 Jut one question - how long will White last at Montpellier?  It was a bad signing to sign up rejects from SA Super Rugby franchises.  Steyn has gone to seed over the past three years and is not even remotely the player he used to be.
