mirrored by out of his depth Meyer are incapable of both understanding the merits or appreciating the skill set Jantjies and Faf bring to the game.
The reason the Kiwi's have dominated the game for so long is that they recognise the class and what these two bring to the Lions game.
The Kiwi commentators lead by Christian Cullen kept singing the praises of the pair with Cullen at one point apologising for sounding like a stuck record about the attacking platform these to provide for the Lions backs.
You can't teach the vision and hands Jantjies brings to the game. 
For those who don't recognise this tells me they don't quite grasp the subtleties of the game 

 Because Elton folds more often than not. Simple really. 

He does appear to be getting more consistent as he gets more experience. Maybe in an open game he can be very effective- or off the bench. 

 Elton blows hot and cold. 
Today he's my choice for President ... last week however I would have insisted he go to Robin Island.
We need him to be consistent. Forget his flippy flippy passes and keep it simple.
I watched him stand his man this morning as the Chiefs no 13 ran right over the top of him. 
Even though he was freight trained ... he gave up 25 - 30kg to the outside centre but stood his ground ... did his best ... and that made me proud of the lad.
I'm not partial to french kissing men but this dude would have received a sloppy one from me if he were close by.  
Hope he can continue on the same level next weekend.

This was a game the Lions were expected to lose....pressure off. Put him in a tight game they are expected to win, he'll fold. Once a choker always a choker.

Moz, your logic is infallible. If you win a game away from home then it's because you were supposed to lose. I take it that if you win a home game then it's because you had your fans behind you. Well, that pretty much ensures that every team should always reach at least the semis. Jantjies was SA's most consistent 10 last year. Would you really pick Pollard or Lambie over him this year if his form continues? You'd probably say "Neither, I'll take Morne Steyn." I have no answer for that.

From the Chiefs game. Two turnovers and he makes 4 tackles and misses 4. Yep I would pick Pollard over this guy in a heartbeat. Lambie vs Jantjies is so horrible it scrambles the computer...Watch the Sharks start losing when Lambie comes back.

I know you like the Qualude....I don't and Jantjies is just a poor man's Qualude.

I am concerned about Pollard. He may be developing more into an inside center. Although this could be the coaches game plan. He just looks a bit sluggish when running and stepping. 
Sky did not record the Lions game today on my Tv- the idiot. I would have liked to have watched the replay.

 It's not always about how much yardage a player makes ... or how many turnovers he won ... or how many tackles he put in.
Sometimes it's about what he did to get other players into the gap ... the well timed off loads he made that produced a line break ... that got the team moving forward ... with momentum ... which ended up producing 10 phases of dominance and points on the score board.
Sometimes it's about seeing the whole picture perfectly and playing your part to such an extent that the team greatly benefits from your effort.
It isn't about all flash all the time ... or being the hero. 
It's a team sport after all.
He can do wonderful things at various times during the match and from it another 7 pointer is chalked up ... and another ... and another ... or from it a split second is regained to assist the team with their defensive lines.
If one is so moronic to think that it's all about yardage and tackles made then perhaps one should no longer bother watching rugby any more ... as they've missed the beauty of this diverse game.
Jantjies played an integral part in our win yesterday and I for one am very chuffed with him. Long may it continue.
Correct me if I'm wrong but it seemed to me that the Kiwi commentary team were of the same opinion ... and truthfully ... I'd much rather take their expert opinion over that of a bitter old codger who's decomposing brain let him down constantly last year ... and the year before.

 Jantjies is not in the class of the younger Pollard. We have seen Jantjes play well and then flop. This pattern has been repetitive. Hence Jantjies has to become a lot more consistent. He has  great opportunity this season so its all up to him.
The hapless kiwis used to praise wee matfiled to the heavens and even now will be suggesting matfield is our number 1 lock if the chance arises. 
Never trust a kiwi has to be the guiding rule - Marshall appears to be an exception proving this rule. I have only to remind all here as to what a slim boet ou JW is! Hahahahahahahahahaha  - B eeno has these oaks all sussed out!

 Jantjies has been inconsistent & seems to lose his nerve - psychologically fragile. Physically he looks better now. Probably not helped by the "throw him in the deep end" coaching in SA.
This discussion again points to the fact that the Boks don't have world class options at 10. This is in spite of all the chest beating about Pollard, Lambie.... and the list goes on.
Glad to see wee Beeno is showing more dignity these days & he is "evolving"" as he adjusts to the world down under in the Side swipes section of the board

 Pollard isn't a class act at all. He's done nothing to warrant that title. He cracks under pressure and is easily flustered ... just like Jantjies. 
When he's bad ... he's really bad ... just like Jantjies.
Sometimes it seems we're too hasty to dish out words like "class act" or "awesome" to the very average of players. 
It's time we see them for what they really are and not what we would like them to be.
Yes we are a little shy on world class players at 10. At this stage in time we don't really have anyone with that special something to boast about ... so we're forced to do with that which is available.
Jantjies, Pollard, Lambie and perhaps Du Preez.
The best of the lot is Lambie. Such a pity he's injured. He would have walked the 10 jersey this year.






 
 

People's memories are particularly skewed when it comes to performances too. I remember working at a restaurant as a teen and being told to always offer the most expensive items either first or last on a list, since people tend to listen to the first bit and last bit of sentences more. There was a Bok game last year when Pollard kicked one ball directly into touch from outside his 22 early in the game. Like the first 90 seconds. The comments on the forum the next day were all about how bad his kick was...when in fact he didn't put a foot wrong for the rest of the entire game. So how much do we really trust our own opinions? As for SA having zero world class 10s. How did Cruden do yesterday? Where did the Kiwi chocker tag come from? If I remember it came from some All Black 10s playing horribly in some big matches amongst other things. Marnitz Boshoff was the Lion 10 that chocked in the 2014 CC final. And he threatened to do the same in the 2015 final, missing some easy kicks. Nobody can argue that Jantjies was the best SA 10 last year, consistently. It's plain as day. If you're gonna claim that a player has some poor performances though he generally plays very well and thus he should not be picked, well then I'd like to see you pick a team becauese you'll have narrowed your pool by 100%.

 Negative kak...they all are a class act but are human and make the occassional error...we have great 10's...we are relieved when MS remains in France and does threaten SA game.

 Gosh don't mention Marnitz Boshoff to CC....he was howling for Boshoff as the Bok 10. 

 Boshoff was always better than Morne Steyn, not that that would mean him a reasonable flyhalf - he was not.   We did not have a half-decent flyhalf since James in 2007 and the story goes on and on.  Pollard is good enough early in his career and can develop unless he turns into a copy of Francois Steyn who showed decent form as a youngster and turned into a total flop before he was 25.

To qualify for his Bok side you need to be old, out dated and slow ... a hasbeen, a wannabe, and a neverwillbe are prime candidates for selection ...  
I was always under the impression that people go through a mid life crisis around 45 or so ... where they think of all the days gone by ... on people they once knew ... of lost friendships ... of when they were young and desirable ... 
I didn't realize that it returns later at the age of 70 for some ... where the bitterness of growing old is all but consumes their day.
How sad to go through your golden year living in regret ...

I actually felt very sorry for Boshoff in 2014 and for the Lions. They'd served to win that CC. Luckily they made good on it last year. Mike what are your thoughts on Akker vd Merwe? Aside from the obvious fact that he hangs out with Legolas on weekends and has to be credited for assisting in saving Middle Earth from Elron :)
