Wind back the clock....

to the 1st ODI against the Windies and there's one young gun who impresses.

His footwork is excellent and his strokemaking is a joy to behold, the kid is classic, straight out of the text book but he has one added dimension in his game and that is strength. Technically he is flawless.

There is no finer shot in cricket than the straight drive, the beauty of the shot is in it's execution and it's the one stroke which defines a class player. Leaning forward, with a straight bat, finishing tall with a high elbow his balls raced down the wicket, past the bowler crashing into the boundary. Then there was the shot which went over the public stand crashing into the car park, the strength of the kid to go aerial and then some  is awesome. Timing as always is everything and he seems to have it in abundance.

At age 24 the cricket world awaits another legend.  Admittedly he is still work in progress, mental strength needs to be massaged and shot selection needs to be tempered. Technically I believe he's a good as the legendary Jacques Kallis. The WC beckons, with a touch of luck I hope it becomes his stage.

His name.....David Miller.

I have said the same about Miller from day one....he has a great technique.....and has come of age.

I want to see him playing test cricket along with Rossouw and v/Zyl

Chippo, reality is that two of them would have to sit out, but they should be in the squad, but saying that I am inclined to want them in and that would have to be at the expense of Elgar and Faf....tough call on them, but I just think these guys are better bats.
