Hi Ruckers
We have started a pool on Total Rankers for the Rugby World Cup..We'd like to give a bit back, to a charity of choice. We have cre ated a private pool called "I Give a Ruck"
It's free to join, but R200 (or $18.00) to participate.
The Pool Code is: A60FE9
Bank Details: It's in the Pool Description

The winner will get to choose a charity to which all of the funds will be donated after the RWC final.
The charity must be a registered charity anywhere globally.
All donor's must use their username as a reference when making payment. To keep things transparent, we'll keep posting donors names and funds received on this thread (unless you wish to remain anonymous). If you would like to remain anonymous, you can use any reference.
We're really trying to give a bit back, and this is a nice start. We're hoping for a decent turnout.
Yours in ruggaEd

Nice idea Ed......I'll match the total contribution, even though I'm too Bok focused to enjoy participating.

I'm in Ed.

If the eventual winner is wondering about which charity to donate to, may I take this opportunity to suggest Santa Shoebox

It's a charity that my company has been supporting for a few years now and it's a really good and rewarding cause. You can read up about them on the link above but basically they make up as many "shoeboxes" as they can which each include a minimum of a toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, a washcloth, school supplies, sweets, a toy and an outfit . . . all new and age-appropriate. These boxes are then distributed at Christmas time to foster homes, orphanages, and any other recipient facilities for underprivileged children.

People can donate items or complete shoeboxes and of course money is always welcome.

Of course you will, Mozart.

Question is ... is this from the heart ... or are you using this platform to strut you stuff ... as usual?

We all know how hell bent you are on flattering yourself. You could easily have emailed Ed privately and asked him for the total ... we would have been none the wiser ... but I guess you were looking for praise ... a pat on the back ... for recognition ... !!

Haaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahahaaaa!!!

You just can't help yourself .. can you?

Oh well ... I guess the selected charity wins in the end ... thanks to your self obsessed nature.

Unbelievable.

The oke who hasn't joined or indicated he will join is having a pop at the guy who's pledged to match the total contribution.

I think this is one of those times when the phrase "put up or shut up" is appropriate.

I'm in on charities, but sorry, not this one.

My wife and I supports a black family for about 20 years now and the amount is never the same each month because we insist to know what our contribution will be used for.

I do not like the idea that the contribution of everyone is published. This is a perfect example how to create peer pressure and I do not like the idea. R200 could be peanuts for some, while for others it may not.

Sorry, I just felt that I had to say something on this topic.

Thanks Blikkies. As mentioned, if you chose to remain anonymous, please use a different reference and it wont be published.

And well done on your charitable contribution to that family. I am sure they are incredibly grateful.

Take care

Well ... guess I'll be staring at this thread pinned to the top of the board all competition long.

No pressure guys. You heard Redneck. We have a choice. Honest ... we either put up ... or we shut up!!
Think I'll rather shut up.
Good luck with your quest, Ed.

I would rather have a competition where the winners get to donate the money to themselves.  (or to someone else or charity at their own discretion).

The charity must be a registered charity anywhere globally. The idea of the pool was to donate to a charity, not to oneself.

Did my bit to stretch Moz's finances Ed.
May I nominate Beeno or Draad, if either of them are up for it, to play on my behalf? I'll just waste a ticket by forgetting to submit predictions on time.

Ou Maiik, if you just took the time to actually read posts you'd see that Ed has explained exactly where the banking details can be found.
R ead what Ed said in the Opening Post. You'll find the banking details next to the name of the pool in the "menu" section of the game.
