I know we rip into each other on this forum, but hell it's times like these that make it all worth while. All of us are just plain ol good people who enjoy taking the mickey out of others and who love the game of rugby... but at the end of the day, we mean good.
Well done to all who are participating.

Red, its for charity. why not just donate anyway?

Bit of a poor show if your donation is only made if certain criteria are met.

that said... make it 200AUD if nz dont win...

the way the aussie reserve bank is dropping rates it might only be worth pesos soon anyway....

Ed

This was a wonderful idea and you deserve recognition for what you did.  I think redsman is genuine in his offer and hope that you sent him the required details already.  That would take the amount raised  to over R10 000 - especially due to the generosity of Mozart, Plum, and redsman,

I think that our friend Rooinek must indicate what charity he would like to assist,  My own favourite at this stage would be the Gift of the Givers helping desperate people with water and food for both people and animals during the drought that is devastating part of our beloved   country,

Hi Ruckers

WELL DONE BOKKE!

...and to a  much lesser extent Rooinek.

Rooinek, you seem to have the wool over everybody. It's 2 from 2 for you.

We've raised R2600.00 so far.

If Redsman keeps to his word of contributing R1000.00, that will become R3600.00.

If Mozart keeps to his word (doubling the total amount), it will increase to R7 200.00

I'd like to wrap things up before 8 November as we are heading out for a couple of days.

Any further donation can be made to:

Bank: FNB (South Africa)

Bank Details: 62016303175

If you'd prefer to remain anonymous, please make your reference "RuckersAnon".

@Rooinek, you get to choose your charity. We'll then send validation certificates and proof of deposit thereafter.

I'm almost in tears guys.

This is honestly unbelievable. It was a spur of the moment decision that we made and it turned out fantastically. We're definitely going to repeat the competition during Super Rugby

Thank you, thank you, thank you for contributing towards a wonderful cause.

RuckersForum members are honestly a world apart!

Over and out.

Ed

Fantastic!
Heartfelt thanks to everyone who took part and donated so generously and special thanks to Ed and the guys at Ruckers Forum who made this happen.
If you scroll up and check out the 9th post from the top of this thread you'll see that I've already indicated I'll be donating to Santa Shoebox if I win and that's the charity I'm choosing. You can read up more about them on the Santa Shoebox website.
I would conservatively guess that this exercise will mean that around 20 additional underprivileged kids will each be receiving a Christmas shoebox containing clothes, toiletries, school stationery, sweets and an age-appropriate toy or gift.
Ed, once we have the final amount I'll be sending you an email with the contact details of the amazing lady that my company deals with when we support this charity every year and you guys can take it from there. I'll give her a heads up in the meantime that we'll be needing registration/validation details from her.
Big thanks from me for this generous and caring idea and for this great Total Rankers competition.

1. I receive your email but after I repeatedly replying to that address it came back as "undelivered"

2. After several attempts I asked Mozart to have a go, he experienced the same problem.."undelivered"

3. The transfer of funds has nothing to do with email and everything to do with a transfer request through my Non-Resident account with the bank.

Not to sound pushy or ungrateful, but if this doesn't get sorted in the next week or so we'll miss the deadline for Shoebox Santa and some little kids won't be receiving a Christmas Shoebox that I was hoping for.
If we do miss the deadline I'm going to choose the SPCA.

Looks like we can do it online.

Here is a link to the Santa Shoebox donation site. You can purchase as many R400 boxes as our budget allows (if it's R7200 as indicated earlier then that is exactly 18 boxes) and as per the explanation on that site, these boxes will then go to underprivileged kids in the more rural areas who aren't in the normal delivery areas.

I'm more than happy for you to do it that way.

Hi Ruckers

I am pleased to inform you that we have just donated the full R5600.00 to Santa's Shoebox.

We bought 14 showboxes with our funds which were raised.

A HUGE thank you to everybody that participated. We have made a difference to 14 childrens lives and for that we are truly grateful!

If anybody would like us to forward on the proof of payment, you can either request it privately by sending us an email or you can request us to send it by asking on this thread.
We're looking forward to many more similar initiatives.
Have a great day everyone.
Yours in ruggaEd

Hello Ruckers

This is Deb, CEO of the Santa Shoebox Project. THANK YOU all for contributing to the pot, and to Rooinek for choosing our beloved Project as the beneficiary

As Rooinek and Ed said above, 14 Virtual Santa Shoeboxes have been pledged @ R400.00 each. These are allocated to profoundly underprivileged children living in remote rural areas of South Africa who, because of the lack of a geographically associated donor-base, would otherwise not receive a Santa Shoebox - and quite possibly a gift of ANY nature - at the end of the year.

You've done GOOD! Feel free to contact me for further info on debbie@santashoebox.org.za

What a wonderful initiative by Ruckers and a suitably wonderful choice by Rooinek.
