SA have retained the same batting line-up.

Which Rabada will turn up?

Ngidi probably fancies this pitch.

Is Jansen the new nightwatchman?

India have had solid starts so far while putting themselves into match-winning situations in both the first two tests of the series.

Rabada still bowls at an average speed of 137 Kph and Olivier at 130 kph.   Both are in the range of medium fast bowlers,    In his first five overs Rabada was expensive and gave away 20 runs    After his first 5 overs Olivier gave away 7 runs.    However,  (7th over) took a wicket and had two  overs without giving away any runs.  Olivier in his 6th over took a  wicket - but n his 6th and 7 he overs gave away another 7 runs.

Pace of bowling still problematic.`

179/6...Verat on 61 and looking real dangerous...we need another wicket before the new ball is due...hopefully a few more...If we can dismiss them for under 250...

Yet again the bowlers put in a match winning performance. That’s 5 out of 5 so far in this series. 350 from our batters and this game is in the bag.

I do think that  what is amazing is that the Indian bowlers achieve a higher speed in delivery than the SA bowlers do,.    There is really no fast bowlers left in the SA team other than Nortje.

Elgar out again - this time for 3 runs.  His eye-hand co-ordination is gone I am afraid.

Wickets usually fall at Newlands when it’s cloudy. Stuck in a very cold Chicago with Covid delaying the trip to Florida, I have watched a fair amount of the series. Cricket is such a good game to watch while taking care of your e mails.

And this is an absorbing series with the momentum going back and forth. I’m enjoying watching Jansen build confidence….he’s an awkward customer.

Nice watching a Newlands test as well. What a fabulous scene with the cricket and lunch at Kelvin. A pity about the rugby, the old set up was something unique in the sporting world.

Not too far away playing franchise cricket.....chances are he's overseas bound.

The ball wasn’t moving in the air very much yesterday though. Most of what troubled the batters was seam deviation. Olivier was very unlucky not to take a few more wickets with the scrambled seam…ball was doing some devilish stuff, keeping low and cutting in all directions…then randomly spitting up too. Haha Jansen is quickly becoming a favourite. Like that younger brother that wants to fight everyone on the very first night you take him out. This Indian team are no mugs with the bat. They’re ranked #1 mainly because of their batting yet our bowlers have dominated them consistently. Let’s see how long it takes for Markram to go out LBW today. I guess we can expect a score somewhere between 200-250.

Never seen such a bunch of weak batters, none of them can face 150 + balls or actually take their time out there in the middle. Not a single century scored by any south african player.

This is why I gave up on cricket many years ago. It was okay when Graham Smith was still playing, we had decent coaching, Micky Arthur and Gary Kirsten, but we simply don't have anyone in SA that can bat anymore.

Water downed domestic league and too much IPL wannabe players.

What is Van Dussen even doing in the team

Rabada out now.

9 down with a lead of 20 odd for India.

The bowlers have managed to dismiss India for scores around the 200 mark all series.

The same will be required here if the Floppers want to have a chance.

Wholesale changes to our batting line-up yet?

Markram to 4-5 in the order yet?

What happens when teams actually hit 300 against us? Will we lose by an innings?

So India looking like they'll make SA chase 300 here...provided there isn't another collapse.

Well done on your first test win in SA, Indians.

Really a pity that we never got see Gill playing in this series as our pitches would have suited his game nicely and would have been a great bit of experience for him.

Haha the bowlers saving the day, yet again. This attack is decent but not great. Yet, I don’t remember when last India managed to successively score such low totals in a Test series. One isn’t sure weather to credit it to the bowling, poor batting or the pitches in this series. We can understand why the Proteas can’t bat for a day but this India side is stacked with good bats yet they just keep floundering. Perhaps there is some magical synergy going on with the Protea bowlers. On that is as invisible as it is effective.

What a find Jansen has been, buckets of wickets against the number 1 test side How utterly disappointing Olivier has been bowling his dibbly dobley medium pace shit Thankfully we have Nortje to replace him next series we play With the find of Jansen, a quartet of KG, Nortje, Ngidi and Jansen is pretty impressive. Pity we don’t have a battling line up to complement the attack. 212 is a tough task on that pitch with our brittle batting line up Elgar sticking it out is key

Tables turned. A batting collapse by the Proteas aside, India won’t get their first test series win in SA after all. Pietie look solid once more. Great, we now have Verrynne and and new #3. Malan and Rickleton need to get into the side too. Then we have a steady bowling attack for the next six years and a solid batting lineup that can play all formats.
