There are at least 3 bible-bashers on this thread who believe that atheists hate god.
I've asked the following question twice already but I've yet to get a coherent or sensible reply:
"Why would an atheist hate something that he doesn't believe exists?"
I don't believe in a god, just as I don't believe in a tooth fairy. I don't hate god nor do I hate the tooth fairy. I don't believe in either of them . . . why would I "hate" them?
I do believe there is some historical evidence to prove that Jesus Christ existed but as I've said before, I don't believe he turned water into wine, I don't believe he raised anyone from the dead, I don't believe he was the son of any kind of god or deity and I certainly don't believe he died for my sins.
What I do know about Jesus (based on the bible now rather than on historical evidence) is that he lived into his thirties without ever having had a relationship with a woman, he spent nearly all his time in the company of men, the person he loved most was John and on his last night as a mortal man of the flesh he was seen some distance away from his sleeping apostles being followed by a "young man wearing nothing but a linen garment". (Mark 14: 51-53). That sounds pretty gay to me . . . but I don't hate Jesus just as I don't hate gay people.
So where does all this talk of "hate" come from? From what I can see it's the bible-bashers who hate the atheists with a passion bordering on the psychotic.
