"Farafe is like Trump - most of his supporters are below average IQ."

I've seen this movie before. It doesn't end the way you want it to.

Farage is a product of the right wing media in the UK. For years they platformed him with almost no scrutiny because they liked his anti EU agenda and also as a way to push the Tory party further to the right, but he wasn't considered a serious politician or ever likely to hold high office.

With the Tory parties implosion he became the defacto choice of the right by default.

Hahaha….deck chairs on the Theme Park cruise ship. None of these people has international leadership potential, just weak candidates from the local tribes.

And McSweeney's gone. Still think it's too late for Starmer.

The left-wing parties have supporters of a higher average IQ in the UK - not because Independents are more left-wing - but because they see left-wing governments as less corrupt (the emphasis is on "less")

Somehow I don't think the type of people George Carlin thought were stupid are the same people you think are stupid.

Starmer must resign. As it was, he had the worst poll rating out of any prime minister. Now this...

Labour needs a fresh slate, and try to see if Labour can claw back some votes before the next election.

I can understand him not being liked and having a negative approval rating but to be so unpopular you'd swear he went live on television daily to execute kittens.

Starmer inherited a difficult situation - but it is the same for other countries.

History will show he was not an effective PM. He has reversed most of his own policies.

The right dont like him because he is left wing The left wing dont like him because he is not left wing.

Starmer is weak...his biggest problem.

Well that's true, yes he did inherit a difficult situation.

But also the media in the UK was also mostly going to be arrayed against him. That's also baked in for any Labour leader.

But one of Labours major problems it their terrible at communication. It's not that they have U-Turned on most policies (and there have been many embarrassing U-Turns), it's that they have not effectively communicated what policies they have enacted or intend to act. Like most people probably couldn't name any of Labours policies and that's on Labour.

There workers right legislation is highly popular but must people simply don't know about it. There was a Vox pop a while back where a guy went to a constituency that voted Reform and asked the public what they thought of the workers right legislation without saying who's policy it was. Virtually everyone asked was highly in favour of it, but most of them assumed it was Reform's policy not Labour's.

As well at that Labour has done decent enough on the economy in terms of economic growth. But they actually have a similar problem to Trump, sticky inflation.

And the general consensus is that Starmer has done decent enough on foreign policy too, but that's not a vote winner.

Starmer is weak...his biggest problem.

Well yes that and political naivety. But that alone wouldn't explain why he's so unpopular, he hasn't done anything near as disastrous as the last few bunch of Tory leaders.

It is over for liberals. They have no alternate political project to provide. Either the two parties compete over the same project, which comes with tremendous problems or one party accepts to lose before the race is on.
