Substantively, Trump's Covid response was spot on.
Closing down borders with China early.
Removing red tape in order to facilitate unimpeded vaccine research.
Funding foreign entities to carry out vaccine research.
Making hospital boats available on the East and West coasts.
Enforcing legislation(can't remember it's name), obliging US companies to manufacture medical equipment and PPE.
Offering any and all support to governors across the political spectrum.
Let's also remember a) at no point were hospitals overcrowded, b) only very briefly were masks in short supply and c) at no point was medical equipment needed but not available.
Trump's administration was entirely transparent throughout.
There was very little, hardly anything, that he could have done better.
The only factor he failed on was the very long speeches and press sessions that he held during the worst parts of the crisis. They served to undermine confidence. Even then, the intentional misrepresenting of his words by political opposition in government AND in the media are largely to blame here too. They acted irresponsibly and politicised the pandemic the moment they realised that they could.
But lets remember, these are the same people that openly called Trump a fascist, nazi, racist, misogynist, criminal, guilty of treason, corrupt, foreign agent, puppet and even incestuous.
All without grounds and most proven beyond doubt to be defamatory lies.
What's truly staggering is that supposedly intelligent people still gobble that nonsense up.
