Despite many of the files being redacted, not released or destroyed, some rich people's brands have been tarnished beyond repair. Many of them denied any dealings with Epstein after he was convicted in 2008. However, many emails show their dealings continued long after, and some even until his death.
It was clear from these emails that some knew him very well- and were close associates. Business and personal.
Bill Gates, the LinkedIn founder, and some prominent CEO's are looking the most guilty so far.
If they lied about being in contact with Epstein, long after they claimed, how can they be trusted to say they were not the clients?
So far, it seems only people from the UK are being punished with legal action. Mandelson looks like he could end up in jail for passing insider information to Epstein.

Jeffrey Epstein was convicted in 2008 on state charges in Florida related to soliciting prostitution and procuring a minor for prostitution, stemming from allegations of abusing dozens of underage girls. He was not federally convicted on later sex trafficking charges due to his death in 2019.
Pre-Conviction Events (2005–2008)
Palm Beach police launched an investigation in March 2005 after a parent reported Epstein abusing her 14-year-old daughter, identifying at least 36 underage victims, some as young as 14. In 2006, Epstein faced state felony charges, but a grand jury issued only a single solicitation charge; federal prosecutors under Alexander Acosta negotiated a controversial non-prosecution agreement (NPA) granting immunity to Epstein and unnamed co-conspirators, halting federal charges in exchange for his state guilty plea.
Conviction Details (June–July 2008)
On June 30, 2008, Epstein pleaded guilty in Florida's 15th Judicial Circuit to one count of felony solicitation of prostitution and one count of procuring a person under 18 for prostitution. He received an 18-month sentence but served only 13 months in a county jail with work release (up to 12 hours daily, six days a week), paid restitution to victims, and registered as a sex offender.
Post-Conviction Developments (2009–2019)
After his release in July 2009, Epstein resumed activities until July 2019, when New York federal prosecutors charged him with sex trafficking minors, alleging abuse of dozens of girls from 2002 to 2005; he pleaded not guilty but died by suicide in jail on August 10, 2019, before trial. His associate Ghislaine Maxwell was convicted in 2021 on related sex trafficking charges and sentenced to 20 years.
Recent File Releases (2025–2026)
Congress passed the Epstein Files Transparency Act in November 2025, signed by President Trump, mandating the release of all unclassified DOJ records on Epstein and Maxwell by December 19, 2025. In December 2025, a Florida judge approved unsealing 2006 grand jury transcripts; the DOJ released over 3 million pages and thousands of images in January 2026, with redactions for victims and ongoing probes, including mentions of Trump and others.
