I can think of at least one other person who thought it was all a big overreaction and who downplayed the effects of the Coronavirus only to eventually realize it was in fact a lot more serious than he had initially thought so he's now lying through his teeth about how seriously he took it from the start.

Yes, I think it's an overreaction for South Africans to rush to stores and buy up all the toilet paper and hand sanitizing products. I also think it's stupid and short sighted to close daycare for kids (regardless of size) facilities without proposing alternative means for working parents to accommodate their kids.

Obviously there should be leadership and decisive action, but creating panic doesn't help at all. The panic and resulting reactions to that panic is the overreaction. 

I can see how the closing of schools and big gatherings will help me and my family, but that won't help the people in the urban townships one bit, in fact, it's gonna make things much worse.
