So Ceraduce now admits that I was correct - Christianity only became the dominant religion hundreds of years after the death of Jesus.
Once it became the dominant religion of the Roman Empire, about 100 years later the Roman Empire collapsed and became a backward society. The dark ages had begun...
As for only mentioning the old testament, most Sunday school and Bible classes teach the old testament. The Book of revelations in the new testament is just fear-mongering. It is a psychology to influence simple-minded.
Something that surprises Christians is that Christianity only existed after Jesus, so how could people be Christians before Jesus? (DUH).
To assume that believing a Kids book is the basis of an afterlife is nonsense. Even Jesus confirms this in the parable of the Good Samaritan which contradicts the Church teachings about following biblical teachings to get an afterlife. So someone that is a really good person from another religion does not go to heaven, but some Christian hypocrite gets into heaven just because they subscribe to Christianity. Absolute nonsense...
But hey if you value your afterlife insurance policy- at least it makes you feel better having more chances of getting into heaven just because you say you are Christian...
If Christians job is to convert people to religion, then an anti-theist job is to convert people away from Christianity. When I read the conspiracy theory nonsense from the likes of Beeno and the other ardent Christians- that confirms to me this is fake, manipulation and a pack of lies.

They all want to believe Bill Gates is a mass murder, or Soros is the devil etc. These are all made up stories by the Bible bashers to help reinforce their reality. It is all simple mind tricks and manipulative nonsense. Self-delusion... Sycophantic actions to increase chances of getting into heaven - something that they themselves doubt is true.

Your knowledge of history is dumb to the extreme.   Christianity became the official church of the Roman Empire under Constantine in  306 at a time when the emperor move the capital of the empire to Constantinople.   It was a united empire for the next century, but then it split into two empires namely the Western and Eastern empires.  The Western Empire finally collapsed in 450 when the barbarians sacked Rome and from then onwards the Dark ages of the Western Empire started.  The learning centers were controlled by the Pope until 800 when Charlemagne became Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire and that institution remained until 1806.   It was only after 800 that  the Barbarians turned to Christianity as their religion.

The Eastern Empire lasted until 1452 when Constantinople fell to the Turks and the Russians became the center of Eastern Orthodoxy.

So what you wrote is utter tripe - stay away from history - it is not your strong suit.  By the way after the fall of Rome to the Lombards  in 450 Emperors  like Justinian ruled over both factions of the Empire.

There is no real case for the fall of the Roman Empire because of Christianity - anybody coming up with that must have their heads read.

@CleverWanker, The Roman Empire officially collapsed around 100 years after becoming Christian. However, the rot set in the day the empire became Christian - and the collapse was inevitable.
Just like Roman was not built in a day, it did not collapse in a day.
Splitting into separate empires was actually the beginning of the collapse- as they ceded half their power.
I am talking about the Western (Roman) empire- Rome.

See how I quote sources- you just pull the data from your arse as usual.
313 ADOver time, the Christian church and faith grew more organized. In 313 AD, the Emperor Constantine issued the Edict of Milan, which accepted Christianity: 10 years later, it had become the official religion of the Roman Empire.

The Western Roman Empire collapsed in 476, and the Western imperial court in Ravenna was formally dissolved by Justinian in 554.  In 476, after the Battle of Ravenna, the Roman Army in the West suffered defeat at the hands of Odoacer and his Germanic foederati. The Eastern imperial court survived until 1453. ... (However, that was no longer the roman empire).

I have admitted nothing of the sort.

@Ceradunce, so you deny it - despite what historical records say, and what Paki said?

You are saying that only became a dominant  religion four hundred years after Christ. I do not agree. It became an organised govt supported church at that time. It does not mean that it was not a dominant religion prior to that. Ask yourself a few questions. Why did the Roman govt/empire eventually “switch” to Catholicism? Why did they not manage to suppress it after the Crucifixion?

And then, one bonus question. How are you coming along with the Bible bashing issue?

How I am coming all with the Bible-bashing issue?

Great in fact. Northern Europe one of the best places in the world becomes less religious each day. In the US the younger someone is, the less likely they are to be religious.

In 20 years the US will be the same as Northern Hemisphere. The same process in most first world countries around the world - so religion is becoming a non-entity in these places.
Imagine a world free from religious disputes that have plagued the world for thousands of years.
For anti-theists, it is a job well done! A victory for science and reason.

Nope ou Vrottie. That is the same as me asking you directions to the North Pole and you starting off down south.

Let’s look at it again.

You said: “ As bible bashers enjoy bashing the bible”

I said: “ They don’t, actually “

What say you now?

Shark,

Let's be honest. No religious person harasses you about their faith.

The only one doing any harassing here is you.

Similar to the point I made before. Their faith is dear to them. Yet you see no problem trashing it even though it does not affect you at all.

You're a bad faith actor and the only reason you keep reverting to people's religion is because you don't have the intellectual power to win any argument without taking cheap shots from safe ground.

Quite cowardly really. And pretty much equivalent to yelling "Well, yo mamma."

So lame.
