Some of the forwards are bracketed, depending on opposition. Against the Bargies I would start Jannie. His technical solidity helps. Against weaker packs like the Aussies Malherbe can create more damage.
I choose Senatla ahead of JP and Hendricks, because I think he will be no worse on defence and he gives us the long strike x factor Habana did in 2007. He will rack up a lot of tries in the pool games and force defences to allocate resources.
That backline has 5 dangerous runners...only Frans and F du Preez, who add balance, aren't in that category.
In the pack I would have preferred if Willemse had been developed....but we haven't seen him for a year now in SH play....so realistically we have to go with Flip, who has more experience and is also very powerful. Flip to start against NZ....Victor against Oz.
We miss flaring pace in the loosies but have three strong contributors....Kriel is a bench option if conditions dictate a switch to a more attacking approach.
