Well poor old Ern, only a few shots out of the lead when the Rooinek nobble arrived....he ended up almost 20 shots behind the winner, easily passed by other golden oldies like Phil, who finished second. Being positively spoken about by the AAs remains the surest path to disaster, sport after sport, year after year.
And to add to the embarrassment by far the best performance by a player who learned the game in South Africa , was that of Justin Rose. Justin tied Phil for second in a gutsy display.
