about how South Africa was sliding into the pits under the ANC. It's always interesting how everyone who is a former "white" South African would agree and say " I told you so"...it's also interesting that while "white" South Africa lived a life of indifference when they had opportunity to express their objections they now find voice as expats on a rugby forum and that voice is always directed at the current government and current state of affairs.

While I've always believed in ideals and never a party, I will never hesitate to express my

objections when those ideals are not met regardless of who the ruling party happens to be. Yes things can and should be better and yes the ANC has been a major disappointment, that said what say you after reading the below link......surely now you will be as vociferous in condemning the past murderous regime as you are about the current ruling party who alongside of many evils denied me my civil rights.

The apartheid regime was an abomination and all the people of all races who disagreed was subject to the same mistreatment by them.  I had my own history with them and that was not a nice thing to see.   It went so far as a break-in into my flat in Durban by security operatives, my telephone being tapped  and constant surveillance - so much so that I was afraid of being murdered by them.   I lived in constant fear and checked the car engine and underneath the car every time before I started it.
Those are things that embittered me for many years and I was delighted when they went out of Government in 1994.   They were bad - but I am afraid what a Black Zimbabwean wrote recently showed some problems still exist today:  
*  The Smith Regime was bad and represented oppression by a White dictatorship*  The Mugabe Regime is  bad and represented oppression by a Black dictatorship 
I am afraid that the present Government promises a lot and delivers very little and that as bad as bribery and corruption is in Zimbabwe - so bad is it locally.   Mugabe built a $50 million palace for himself in Harare, Zuma built a R290 000 000 mansion for himself in Nkandla - all with money looted from Government or alternatively just paid for from Government Funds.  
The country is going downhill fast and there is very little hope for the future.
